He was on a season long loan from Twente.
As a guess it probably takes both the parent club and loaning club to agree to the change in loan contract?

Seems to be the suggestion. That's going to be an interesting conversation between DF and him after the scathing criticism when he was originally given the boot!
Seems a bit short sighted by Twente. Yes they can refuse to cancel the loan but clubs will be wary of dealing with them in the future possibly?
