Well TDD is nearly over again and we haven't strengthened at all. This window was a perfect opportunity to show everyone that we meant business and we were building a team in Klopp's vision. JK had identified Alex Teixeira as a player who would have made us better and Ian Ayre with his Bargain Hunt-esque negotiations has failed to deliver on a player that we desperately needed. JK said money was available yet why are we not looking to invest it?! Latest rumour is that we may be in Mauro Icardi. Why was this not set up earlier?! Finally, I see that Spurs are in for Berahino. Worth a cheeky punt to try and hijack the deal? Thoughts?

much better getting no one than the wrong player, such as benteke. wait till summer and give klopp a good hard look at the team now. in my opinion this will work fine for the coming season.

Sounds like the work of a desperate PR department. No, they weren't willing to spend money but spin it so that they were and then agreeing to blame the most popular member of the management team for not progressing the purchase.
This is all about stating your intent and following through. With that complete buffoon Ayre off travelling the world offering cash plus Green Shield stamps for players it's hardly surprising we are facing another barren time.

much rather not get fleeced in jan and buy players we actually need for their actual value in summer.
plus how often have we all said that pooling our funds and buying 1 or 2 top notch players for the first team rather than bulking the squad with potential and youth?

Not getting in the Brazil squad doesn't mean much. Their team selections can be like political affairs. A while back I saw Kaka making an app while the likes of Cout and Tex struggle for apps.
