I'm not hear to talk about arteta much I think its a good deal for all we need a playmaker & you need the money.
I'm hear too talk about your striking options I know you signed a argentine striker but other than him you got saha without injuries in my opinion would easily make most peoples top 10 but unfortunatley he gets a lot of injuries & then theres anichebe whos got all the physical attributes but probably needs to work on his finishing & movement etc.
Do you think you should have kept Yakubu or Beckford? I say this because you would think the argentine striker would take time to settle & saha being injured a lot & anichebe being inconsistent you lot look quite short on strikers.
Apparently we initially offered you a swap deal including bendtner for arteta which im shocked you didnt take.
So do you think you should have held on two either Beckford or Yakubu & good luck for the rest of the season.

I wouldn't mind holding onto Beckford, as he connected with Saha well last year, but I'm hoping this new Argentine will fill the role of lone striker, since Moyes almost never deviates from the 4-5-1
We also have the young Vellios, and Cahill/Bilyaletdinov could probably fill in as front man in a pinch if we had a ton of injuries.
I honestly wish we had offloaded Anichebe. I've never seen anything in him.
It will all come down to If Stracqualursi adapts well or not. I'd rather have quality than quantity, so if he can cut it up there alone, then I don't mind losing Becks/Yak.
Good luck this season - i'm interested to see how your new signings (and ours) will perform this season.

But why did we sell Beckford, he was starting to come good. You cannot tell me you believe that Arteta decided to up-root his family and leave the club and, if you believe the gossip, take a pay cut after only two hours of hearing of your clubs interest even though it’s was in the news last week. and at ten o’clock at night as well. Imagine if you did this to your family. Big Vic is to all intents and purposes is useless, Saha when fully fit is class but when is he fully fit? The Yak has wanted to leave since we turned down West Ham’s bid for him around the time of last world cup. From what I have seen and heard of Bendtner he is not a yes man and we hear he has an attitude problem. Could you see him being told to play on the wing or play with no support from a ten man defensive midfield at home and then take criticism when it didn’t work out? No chance. We were told we had to get the wage bill down, well, with Arteta and the Yak gone that problem was sorted. We were told to buy we had to sell. Well we have sold and we cannot buy so why sell Beckford and replace with an unknown quality who did not command a fee. Why not play them both. And forget all this in Moyes we trust quite a few don’t as his relationship with Billy is just to close and hardly anybody trust him or his board.
Looking at the way things have happened at your club I tend to think Wenger has a few financial constraints to deal with as well but is not allowed to say. They say Moyes is great at spotting a bargain but he is nowhere near your manager’s standard. I think you may struggle to get in to the CL and that will bring you a load of problems but I hope you do make it and as for us we don’t need luck we’ve got Bill. God we’re screwed.

This was probably our last chance to cash in on Arteta. I'm gutted he's gone but he hasn't been at his best for 2 years.
Similarly, Yakubu hasn't been any good since his injury. I'm also becoming less and less convinced by his age.
I'm gutted about Beckford, but he was a very frustrating player to watch. He'll do nothing for several games then score a wonder goal.
Our remaining striker options aren't too bad. Saha and Denis are our target men. We also have Velios, Gueye and (ugh) Anichebe. Hopefully Anichebe will stop getting games now.
Interesting thing about Drenthe, he's on a free next summer. Could end up being bargain of the season!

Agreed about letting Beckford go, he does look like getting us a goal although he won't be prolific at this level and his alround game play is poor.
Bendtner is a no no from me. In what dimension is he ever worth £10 million quid?!?!?! Would gamble on him for 1-2 million but no more than that - he's not exactly got a great scoring record and clearly has a large opinion of himself and not a good attitude. The fact that he couldn't force his way in to the starting line up when Van Persie was injured says it all really.
Didn't realise Drenthe was on a free - hopefully we can get into his ribs to sign permanently!
