I have been reading some posts which are mind boggling. All of a sudden I am reading Pienaar, Kranjcar etc can do a job on the right? We have such and such to come back from injury? Have some people been asleep the last 18 months?! Our defence is poor and injury prone and our strikers are rubbish! What has suddenly made you so optimistic? Liverpool, Chelsea, Villa, Stoke, Bolton, Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, have all left us in the dust (in terms of strengthening)! One apple doesn't make a picnic. So what if we had to pay 15 million for a player in the last year of his contract? Regardless of how long he has left, we are still paying 15 million for the same player! What matters is how long he is going to sign for Tottenham! We're not getting him for £15 million for a single year.
Furthermore, our last ten premiership games (including the tail end of last season) have been so poor against even some very weak opponents. This isn't a business as some delusional people have posted here, this is a football club. We could have at least spent the 25 million pounds we recouped on new acquisitions on this deadline day. I'm not talking about breaking the bank, for one solitary player. It would have been reasonable to have bought Cahill and Ruiz for £25 million. I thought Redknapp's grand plan was to keep Modric and 'add' to him? We missed out on Suarez last January, we missed out on Rossi last summer, as Redknapp even admitted that we could have had him for £18 million back then. This was the one window we needed definite strengthening purely on the fact that the teams around have improved their squads. I'm so gutted, it has ruined the rest of my footballing year.
So So Gutted!

We dont act fast thats most of the problem unfortunately we let a small crack turn into the whole house falling down before we decide to do anything.

If Adebayor was to get injured we would be back to square one, and that is in the hope that he finds some form. I shudder to think what we would do if Bale, Charlie, or one or two were also to get injured. I feel so frustrated, top 4 we can safely say is gone. Levy has a lot to answer for. We didn't ask for a £50 million signing. Cahill, Jagielka, Albiol, Samba, Alex....any would have done really.

The crazy thing is, the season has barely started and the most of us realise that we can wave bye bye to top 4. Had we signed Cahill, just one single player, I would have thought we would have been in the mix. But Kaboul is a liability at cb, he is too relaxed and does not posess the killer instinct an English centre back would have. You look at Terry, Carragher, Ferdinand, Cahill, they throw their bodies on the line, bleed for the cause. Yet Kaboul likes to think of himself as a winger or striker. He is okay as a right back, but never a center back for a top 6 team. This was our last chance i feel to stay with the big boys as teams like Liverpool and Man City will continue to leave us behind.

The worst thing is we are going to fall beind by a good bit this season they will all strengthen next eyar and we only get up there standard next year where there already ahead of us we are effectively a year behind them all in development.
All that stopped us last year from top 4 was a striker that is it if we bought last summer lets be realistic we all knew in our champions league debut that crouch and defoe wernt going to cut the mustard why oh why couldnt we have just said right guissepe rossi or diego forlan right now heres your 30 mill.I wouldnt of even minded bringing in an old experienced head like Raul Van Nistelrooy or Klose the sort of goals those guys score you dont need legs all they need is good service into the box which Lennon and Bale provide and they will put those 6 yard tap in away all day long.

I don't think you should write us off just yet. Yes I agree if Gallas stays injured and/or Ade gets injured we're out of it, but you could say the same about Liverpool and Gerrard/Suarez, and Arsenal and Wilshere/van Persie/Arteta.
We haven't strengthened enough, but we have improved our squad, clearing out deadwood and getting in proven PL players over many seasons, players that are WINNERS. I see that as a positive. And Modric is still here. I firmly believe we will push the others all the way for 4th

City and United apart, and Arteta was a surprise to an extent, but the rest that have been bought are average, are they really better than what we've got...Ruiz...give me a break!
The negativity is astonishing.
