What exactly did smalling do wrong today?

Is this the firs season Mike's had to play all of the matches? Maybe in need of a day off.

I agree. He's a good defender but not brilliant. When we were tight at the back it was mainly due to being incredibly defensive in midfield. We've stopped doing this and his not as well protected.

Carrick was atrocious today.

If I performed that badly at work I would return my pay packet to my employers.

Carrick only plays well when the team do. He goes missing when ever the team plays poorly.

Fine passer long and short but not the answer imo vc.

Luxury player in fact.

Need to reassess the midfield again, need a nasty fecker in there with ability on the ball

he lost his man while defending a corner, something the likes of rio of vida never did.

so he is clearly not good enough

Please call him Mike...

If people can hand on heart say he has kept up his form from early season then you are either dumb or in denial.

He has been clumsy and error prone. John O'Shea gave him a lesson in defensive masterclass today and I should never be saying that.

Too many luxury players out there today.
