Seems a lot of people on here think Simpson was hard done by with the 2nd yellow, have read many posts even from Arsenal fans that 2nd yellow should have been a warning.
TOTAL BOLLIX. The first yellow is a warning, "do that again and you'll be off"
Simpson's 2 yellows

Thought the first yellow was extremely harsh to be honest, didn't like Sanchez asking for it no need for that.
-----------
He was lucky not to get booked in the first half for taking down sanchez. That was his 3rd foul on him and was rightly booked for persistant fouling.
Second was just a mind freeze from him.

No complaints from me - Simpson has let the team and himself down, not to mention the dreaming fans.
That said we move on. We're Leicester City, We're top of the league

How many fouls had he committed before the 1st yellow? I see someone above said 3rd foul on Sanchez, but maybe he made more on others?
I thought the first yellow was never a yellow card on its own, but if it was his 4th or 5th of the game, then you can't moan at a yellow for persistent fouling.
The 2nd yellow was definitely a card. Had a complete moment of madness. Shame really.
Was it Drinkwater later in the game on Ramsey? That was a bad one, lucky to get away with that.

To be fair to drinkwater he did apologies to ramsey after the game.

I thought Simpson's second yellow yesterday was 50/50 - it depends whether the referee believes he's doing it cynically or not. It was a bit soft but he should be smarter, particularly considering it was Giroud he was up against - someone who was stronger but also wasn't necessarily going to get away if he left him.
But these things happen; it wasn't a massive error in Simpson's part, just a minor one with massive consequences.

Agreed, Dunge - it was a soft second yellow but these things happen. Sometimes they work in your favour, sometimes they don't - I do think Drinky was lucky to stay on the park and he would have been missed more than Simpson. Really disappointed to lose but to brighten people's mood, at the weekend the Times had predicted that we would lose to Arsenal but still end up with 79 points and win the league. Mind you, they forecast that to do that would require a win in the final game at Chelsea. Game on.
We're Leicester City, we're top of the league! UTF

I wish this site had more people capable of writing something like that.

The Simpson's are yellow.

My own personal view is that after giving the first yellow card, the ref could have had a word with Simpson and given him a final warning. I like to see refs give the benefit of doubt and keep it 11 vs 11.
The problem is, if he's not already on a yellow, it's a definite yellow, so neither we, nor Simpson can argue that it shouldn't have been a sending off.
That said, I prefer to see final warning given out for those incidents feather than reds.
The ref got way too card happy in the second half for both teams which was stupid because he was letting everything go in the first. That lack of consistency made me feel he was being too influenced by players or fans.
But can we argue Simpson "shouldn't" have been sent off. Probably not!
