Going in April, wondering if I overpaid...
How much would you pay/expect to pay if you were going for three nights with two mates? Including flights?
Also, anyone been before? I expect a lot have, what's it like/what experiences did you have?

Going a week on Monday - Got flights on the monday morning, two nights in a central hotel then flights back on wednesday night for £120
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How so cheap?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Booked a couple of months in advance and just looked for the cheapest possible times to go - Flight times make a big difference. Can get a good hotel for cheap too.
Think flights were about £65 return or something like that.

Yeah had to pay extra to get decent flight times tbf. And not booking far in advance makes a difference I suppose

I`ve been a few times, stayed in a hostel once, which was cheap but I much prefer a decent hotel. Stayed in a 2 star down the far end of the damrak once, which was no palace and had a permanent smell of weed (which suited us lol).
Did all the usual, weed, whores, sexy shows, booze etc etc, as well as a little bit of culture. Did the Heineken brewery tour, that was quite good, you get a few free beers at the end.
A great place to have fun, and the most relaxing place I have ever been, nothing is rushed in the Dam.
I must return soon!

We always book flights and hotels separate, that can work out cheaper, you can get cheap return flights to Schipol for as little as £100 if you book well in advance and fly at less popular times.
The hotels tend to be more expensive the closer they are to the RLD and the action, but there are loads of trams if you stay further out. I stayed at nice 3 star once, about 30 mins walk from the RLD, and they were not bothered about us stinking the place out with weed either.
Coffee shops are everywhere, but we tend to stay away from the popular ones near the RLD as the weed in the coffee shops on quiet side streets tends to be a tad cheaper and the shops quieter.
Most of the ladies in the windows are stunners, though there is catering for all tastes lol, and the casa rosso and bananabar shows are quite expensive but worth experiencing once, but I wouldnt repeat.

Amsterdam is a once every 2yr job at least. Utter carnage each of the times I've been.
Everywhere looks the fackin same too. Oh, here's another bridge over a canal flanked by tall, thin buildings . Surprised I haven't ended up in a canal to be honest. Fack knows how I ever found my way back to my hotels

Never been to Amsterdam but I'd say about £250 tops for flights and a hotel is about right.
