Tomorrow the Rovers make their way to Dingley Dell ( Oakwell), for another local derby with Darren Ferguson's words ringing in their ears following the display against the Blades.
Ferguson, like most managers has said he will back his players most of the time but that game was not one where he felt he could. In his words, "It was the most boring local derby I have ever seen".
" I've not changed my mind," he said. " I think they are fully aware that I have a responsibility to them, but to the club and particularly the fans and I was not going to mug anyone off after that game." he added. I do try to protect my players, but not after a display like that., I could not defend them on that.
Ahead of tomorrow's game DF has said that Conor Grant and Copps are both fit, but he did say he had a full squad last week. Let's wait and see.
As far as loans in and out, Curtis Main has gone knowing he needs games to prove he can do it, he is at Oldham for the rest of the season so it's up to him. Billy Whitehouse going to Halifax shows he needs experience in a man's league as opposed to the U 21's.
Ferguson is hoping to make Lynden Gooch's loan extend to the end of the season and he and Eddie Cygne are up at the weekend. Chris Neal's position is somewhat different as Stuckmann is now fit so it may well be that Neal goes back at the end of his month.
Ferguson says that last week's performance gives him a licence to make many changes if he wants to. Lee Johnson has left Barnsley for Bristol City and Paul Heckingbottom has taken over till the appointment of a new manager. Barnsley have had some very good results recently and Fergie says they have a very good squad to pick from and they probably expected to be doing better overall than they have done this season.
Former Rovers and Belles manager, John Buckley says he thinks Grant and Coppinger missing last week was big in the loss to the Blades.
For those with Player, please take time to watch the interview with Cameron Stewart, he was very honest and also spoke very well of the club and what he would like to happen in the future, he is, by the way contracted to Ipswich for next year as well. He would like to stay but is more concerned with getting Rovers into a better position before the end of the season.
Match Officials.
Referee Andrew Madley
Assists Marc Edwards and Graeme Fyvie
4th Off Mark Dwyer.
Enjoy the game <applause.

If you look through the comments I put on this thread it shows that, but for Stuckmann we would have been down 4-0 by half time. It's the same every game he plays. Mind you some will say that's what he's paid to do.
Talkling of keepers, did anyone see the performance of Jakupovic for Hull against Arsenal, now there was a goalkeeping master class??

Stuckmans save was as good as he could have been expected to do, however the mistake,if there is one, is that he must have got his angles wrong because the initial shot would have gone wide if he had left it alone.
Difficult for him i have to say but there will have been other times when he would have let it go by.
I don't think it is fair to blame any defenders for not getting to the loose ball, the attacker is just on hand to turn the rebound in.
It could have dropped elsewhere and been cleared.
I also think it is harsh to say that Lund should have scored.
He hit his shot well and on target.
Like their goal, the rebound could have dropped to one of our players for a tap in but with our current situation we are not getting the luck going our way.

We are now looking over our shoulders as the bottom four is in view despite was azza says.

Azza laughed at me when i said we were in serious danger of going into a relegation battle

Dear oh dear azza.
You really have to check things before you write.
On the Walsall match thread after i said that we could yet get dragged into relegation dog fight, you replied:
"Also to think that we will be in a "dog fight" is laughable, not a chance".
Anything to say about that then?
xxx? You can kiss my a r se.

I know we've had to read you defending dickov for the last couple of years

Alas poor Dickov; Hound knew him well I suspect.
Now he is the Prophet of Doom and he sees us all struggling helplessly to defend his successor.
I for one will carry on manfully and on the way will try not to chide anyone for being negative.

But still no acknowledgement that I am correct about your comment azza lad.
Classless as ever.
Don, that last post of yours really made me laugh.
You, always the most negative if contributors, calling me the prophet of doom.
You just couldn't make it up.
For the record, I do see some posters refusing to see that Fergie should shoulder some blame for our current plight.
He has openly said that he is happy with the players he has and doesn't need to bring anyone in.
I am not the only supporter who disagrees with that and have seen flaws in his methods which has left us in a relegation dog fight( is that azza I can hear?)
As ever though I will be at the games, singing his name and supporting him and I obviously want him to do well because then the Rovers will be doing well.
I suspect that the rose tinted glasses are being worn by people who think Fergie is faultless right now.
Even azzas' dad has said we are in trouble.
It is a shame his son hasn't inherited his eyes.
