Good evening lady and "gentlemen" (which part of that word am I calling into question..? ). Tomorrow we face Brentford, a struggling side which haven't won in thirteen, which of course means... they're going to end that run tomorrow!
I know, I know, this thread is WAY too early of course... but not nearly as early as our dear Rev's, who is SO ultra efficient that he managed to produce a match thread 7 days in advance to said match! (not to mention Admin 1 made it live... blooming red dogs favouring their own eh?)
Thorne is out tomorrow, some disappointing news mixed in with the good news that Hughes is back into gentle training and hopefully it won't be relatively too long until we have our brilliantly talented protégé back in the big time (I only hope he will return on good form, unfortunately we all know how an injury can affect a player in more ways than just physically)
And let's hope that now Wassall has had more time with the players he's been able to instill his desired style of play and attitude there - he definitely needs more of a chance, these pathetic #WassallOut campaigners need to get a grip
Sooooo... that's all for today I guess folks.
Teams, Moj?

Wick, I used to drink in Matlock, Shakespeare's, old English and Harvey's. Knew a fair lads from Matlock in the 1990's as I played football for Winster in the hope valley league

Drank in the Old E a bit but I mostly drank in the Boathouse (sadly closed I think), White Lion or the County and Station. Brother lives in Elton still, so frequented the Miners in Winster, was up there after the Brighton game.
Hooleys has gone sadly down hill, they've built on all the fields around it, our football pitch is no more

Ey-up Wick, my brother is an Eltonian. He's lived there for the last 35 years, so only a newbie really!
Not been in the Miners for years, or the Duke for that matter, (the Mansfield bitter in the Duke was always a good pint).

If you haven't been in the Duke for years it wouldn't matter. It literally hasn't changed a bit. It reminds me of the Rovers Return circa 1960. The landlady still doesn't use a till.

Think you're only allowed in the Duke if you have 6 fingers on each hand, and Spart is right, it is the pub that time forgot

Blower was still alive when I first frequented the Duke.

The breathalyser hasn't reached Elton. The last time I was in there a bloke staggerd out the pub, got into a beat up old Escort and drove off.
Matthew Parrish sometimes takes his London gay friends in there. Must be a culture shock for all.

2W mate, will certainly say hello to mother-ship Matlock for you. Spring, just showing now. Lighter nights, snowdrops, daffodils crocuses and The Rams great victory at the week-end and mid week game v a chastened Blackburn (lost 5-1 in the cup). IF WE BEAT THEM it we will be starting our revival.
By the way - re the huge onion - I've just remembered it was in Montreal and not Toronto. Now I recall it the food/cooking in Montreal was better than Toronto.
Griff, what are working on in Ann Arbor - I was there a decade or 3 ago at the EPA.

Wick, when I played for Winster, we used to drink in the bowling green after games. The same lads played for elton on Sunday's, Jack Lester started at Winster before going to Grimsby and then the doggies. I don't drink up Matlock as much now, I tend to go to either Cromford or Matlock Bath, any of you used to go to the pav in years gone by?
I'm staying in Ann Arbor but working in Yspilanti. I spend nearly 3 weeks there last summer. I had a weekend off so went to Niagara Falls for a couple of days
