Player ratings v Fulham

Fantastic to see yet another youngster break through so competently to the first team. Lewie Coyle was our best player on the night for me and is twice the right back that Scott Wootton will ever be. Our youngsters are the one bright spark in an otherwise grim season. I'm no great fan of Evans, but he has bought better than any if his numerous predecessors. Pity none of them were strikers.

Silvestri 6 - only mystery was why he failed to move for the Fulham goal, otherwise a solid game.
Coyle 8 - fabulous full debut
Bamba 5 - cant fault his effort, but he looked very shaky at times and got several lucky breaks if the ball. Phil Hay gave him 8/10???????
Cooper 7 - his usual solid game and dominant in the air
Taylor 7 - would like to see him get forward a bit more like did away at M K Dons
Diagouraga 7 - still proving to be a great asset to the team
Adeyemi 6 - got forward much more than Bridcutt does, but nothing fell for him
Cook 8 - stunning goal and our most creative player, although that doesn't say much for the rest
Mowatt 7 - good to have him back because he knows where the goal is and like our other youngsters puts a great effort in for the club
Doukara 6 - needs to play beside a target man for me
Antenucci 5 - system doesn't suit him and I suspect he's lost his motivation
Subs:
Erwin - needs to be given more time to show if he's up to the Championship or not.
Dallas - looked back to his best in the short time he was on, but missed a great chance near the end
Botaka - not on long enough to judge.

Wood's goal away at a Derby, Taylor's goal and penalty at M K Dons, Cook's goal last night. Let's hope these were all not season one-offs. A few more like that and we be much closer to the top six.

Where Jennings and smith these days ???

I said I thought Erwin would be a good signing from seeing him in Scotland

But sorry, he's looked a million miles away every time he's come on. Looks slow and clumsy

And by the way you still owe me £50

Everyone wants instant impact these days. Nobody gives anyone any time

I think you're right outwood that's why I hope Evans stays beyond summer. He talks a decent percentage of garbage, but he's clearly passionate about the club and seems to have a clear idea of what he wants to do if given the finances in the summer.

Each time a new manager comes in they always want a chance to assess the players we have, and I think a few of the players we have have survived longer than they should at the club because of it.

Love to see Erwin and Botaka given more of a chance They haven't exactly been given time to settle.

Thing with Erwin is Rosler didnt pick him and now Evans isnt either, can they both be wrong,
With Botaka i think we live more in hope that he can do the business due to our attacking options being limited, again if he was doing the business in the 21s and training he would be in the team, our fans are easily seduced by a stepover.

Erwin was what I was expecting. Looks well out of his depth, but probably needs a decent run in the team, saw him in pre season player a wider role and he looked quite handy.

When we got Erwin, everyone I spoke to up here (Scotland) said we've got a good one, that he'd fit in and improve no problem...........

Providing he got the chance

I don't think Erwin has looked great, in fact I said after the game against MK dons that he looked very out of his depth.

But Antenucci isn't making an impact (no goals since Nov) and is not going to be here next season.

Erwin has what 2 more years left? Unless we sell him at a loss and basically pay up his contract in the summer, he'll be here. So why not give him a couple of starts till Wood is fit again and see how he does.

Otherwise, we've signed a player for a couple of 100k, not even given him a start and discarded him.

Try 375k !

Add in his wages and the agent fee and you will heading towards £1m by the end of the season.

These sort of signings are exactly why we are a magnet to 15th position.
