Wenger's last stand

Disastrous result. Worst of the season. Similar to the chelsea games in the fact that one or two individuals in our team effectively threw the game. Even more worrying was the attitude of the others when they needed to stand and be counted.

This is where we see if Wenger still has what it takes to turn this around. Typically all the focus is on him, so whatever happens next will be monumental for our future. He has to be strong and decisive now and prove that he is the right man for the job.

Imo several things will make this clear:

Ramsey - There is utterly no excuse now, he needs to be dropped. Wengers blind persistance in him in last few weeks, and especially this game have been devestating to our title hopes. Ive been to a few games in the last 2 months and its clear he is the glaring weak link. There is no coincidence we have looked our most fluid in the only game he did not play, against Hull. The opposition was not important in that instance and we did not even win but as we have always known, the style of football we play means any weak links in terms of passing and giving the ball away leave us in perilous threat of counter attack or can completely break down the most promising of attacks.

Giroud - Wenger has to understand that Giroud is hopelessly out of form and should not start again this season. Welbeck needs to start up top from now on. Bring Giroud on in 60th min as he has a great impact off the bench

Elneny - Wenger has to start him in place of Ramsey and have the balls to let this guy prove he is an arsenal player. Lets be honest there is no chance he can be worse than Ramsey so really its not actually that big a risk. There is no point buying a player in jan if he is not going to have a big impact on the rest of the current season

The general form of our players - I think removing the likes of Ramsey will naturally help our form. winning games does that. However The onus will still be on Wenger to help to get these players believing again.

Defence - Stop playing Gab and Kos together. It is a terrible partnership, similar to Vermaelen and Kos. Play Mert or play Chambers with kos or gab. We need someone who can deal with balls into the box. The first two goals were bread and butter for the likes of Per, who has almost the top stats in the league for clearances and headers.

Despite what happens this season, if Wenger stays in the summer, he then he needs to go and fix the issues that plague us. Not so much signing new players but more about Fix Injuries, get rid of players with loser menality

If Wenger makes no changes and continues exactly as he has done in past few months then we are almost certainly done for. He will have proved that he is no longer capable

Wenger and the team tend to do well when at rock bottom (losses to spurs in recent years followed by an exceptional run, disastarous champion league first legs followed by a spririted performance etc. Lets see if he can do it again

Gunnerthru, we have had Giroud for a few years now. Its always the same with him. He is the most streaky striker I have seen for Arsenal. When in form hes one of the top strikers in the league, when off form he is worse than useless. There is no middle ground. Look at the difference Welbeck made today. Giroud needed to be dropped.

Today he didnt even start and came on when we were already behind.

It's easy to blame all defeats on Giroud. If that make your life easier then move on.

You shouldnt blame all on Giroud but of course of our british core who are always injured, useless and mentaly not up to win the title.

Without Giroud this season we wouldnt even fight for the title in the absense of Theo Walcott.

GT you get far too emotional when people disagree with you, especially when Giroud is concerned. I quite like Giroud but he clearly isn't on form. He's currently undergoing his worst run of games without a goal since he joined, at 9 That's bad form for a striker no matter what you think of his other contributions.

Now is he the most out of form player in the team? No. Is he the sole reason we're not playing well? Nope. But to claim he's out there having a blinder every game is, for want of a better word, delusional.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am not....but the constant blaming him for our failure is absolute baffling.

His treatment from the Arsenal supporters is beyond believe.

If you reduce it to "scoring" yes....you're spot on. To explain the whole failure of Arsenal Football Club recently you need a wider picture. That is the only thing I am saying.

Surely u guys can't be blaming Giroud for today??

Walcott, Sanchez, Ramsey, Kosielney Bellerin and Oxlade have been pathetic for the last 6-8 games.

Skins, my last word on this. I am emotional yes....but I am emotional because it winds me up that we give away a title winning chance so easily. Its really not about OG. Its about Arsenal to win.

I would have loved to see the Mancs getting a trashing today and Theo scoring 3 goals. The way we played today frustrates me.

Angry and shocked at this performance but we have been doing it all season. Thinking we have beaten a team before we even kick off. These guys are gutless and really don't give a monkeys.

West Brom Away
Chelsea Home and Away
United Away
Spurs Home
Southampton Away
Liverpool Away

Seeing it happen time after time. Its the manager and players fault.

If a teams in poor form bet your bottom dollar that they will be beating us. We are getting mugged off.
