When we say the PL is the most competitive

Are we saying Barca cant win the premier league? Or maybe we are saying they will have a harder time winning it? Honestly at the moment, and I say it with all good intentions, PSG and Atletico would win the premier league, never mind Barca or Bayern.

We are "5 points" behind Leicester, "5 points" behind the League leaders. We have hardly played well for 3 months but we sit 6 points from going above Leicester.

We are "7 points" ahead of Man utd, "7 points"!!! A team that has spent well more than barca, Bayern have spent in the last 2 seasons but may not even get a CL place.

Now ask yourself, isn't this what we saw happen in Serie A when the Milan teams and Lazios's spent crazy, under performed and eventually went bankrupt drastically reducing the quality of the league.

We are treading similar proportions here. A lot of people take it for granted and think these are blips and Chelsea and united will be back but isn't this probably the 3rd season united will finish behind us?

We are probably the only constant here.maybe the new TV deal with make things more interesting but cant help but think Leicester do deserve this title yet at the same time this Leicester team would probably be ripped apart in europe.

Strange old situation we have in the domestic game, maybe lets wait and see what Pep can do next season.

We bought Di Maria and then sold him. Shaw been injured for most of the time at Man Utd so most of the money spent LVG hasn't had in his squad the figure the media use to troll LVG with.

Competitive is just the unique selling point that the EPL marketing strategy was built on, it always was and still is a bit of a myth.

Spain collective TVs deals will be interesting, let's face it they have great football, great weather, the best players and the best teams. That will be really easy to sell. They should start taking significant cash off the EPL soon.

Hopefully Italy will step up as well soon, those three leagues need to be earning about the same to maintain parity and make the CL and EL better.

It would also be nice if the Eastern Europeans and Russia started improving, I miss the days a random team you've barely heard of spanks a big hitter.

Mind Shevchenko scored a hatrick in the nou camp when he was 17. No idea why Barca didn't sign him

How so? The majority of the money from the premier league's tv deals is domestic, La Liga won't make a dent in that.

International tv revenue accounts for about 43% of the total income. Technically you are correct in saying that the majority of the money from the premier league's tv deals is domestic but that's irrelevant to the point and on the whole you are wrong.

International and domestic tv rights for the prem completely dwarf that of La Liga's.

It's unlikely La Liga will be taking significant cash off of the PL.

La Liga is in much better shape on the pitch but I'm not sure what has led Trojan to the conclusion that off the pitch the tv money is going to be even close.

The prem is at it's weakest in years and is still making record breaking deals that no other leagues in Europe seem capable of doing.

Yeah should have elborated on that.

My point was mainly that these international broadcasters will have a choice to make between the EPL and la liga. The cash involved mean that many won't be able to buy rights to both. Only the really big ones will do it.

I expect some will begin to pick la liga over the EPL, might take about 10 years but I think that eventually both leagues will be pulling in about the same in tv revenue.

I think it's a fair comment that la liga will make a dent in the overall market share that the EPL enjoys.
