We have won every PL game he has been involved in so far and conceded just 2 goals with him on the field. This lad is going to be a top drawer centre half for years to come
Don't know when Jan is back but good luck getting back in the team mate

I think he has been outragesly impressive, but a big part is Alderweirled leading from the back.
I actually think he has been arguably POTS so far.

Verts will definitely come back into the team when fit

sandy makes me laugh when he comes out with these definitely statements, as if he has absolutely any clue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe Poch and Vertonghen both told him personally
----------------------------------------------------------------------
maybe.
considering sandy is pretty much the most clueless poster on this forum, its just entertaining when he says things as if they are a matter of fact.

it is down to toby a personally who talks him through the game and demands that defence.
Wimmer sadly at 24 is very inexperienced alongside Fazio he was a wreck and alongside Dier he is not as secure. That is not the hallmark of a top quality defender......yet.
Serious potential there especially with the way he passes out from the back and some of the timing of his tackles are very smooth. But he needs to gain experience to stop moving in certain ways he struggles with positioning off the ball.
All these games are helping him but there is no question Jan is the better option at this stage of wimmers development.

At 24, a full international, consistently played in the Bundesliga he's hardly an inexperienced rookie straight up from the youth team though.
A game with Fazio here and a game with Dier there with rotating full backs is not enough to forge a partnership.
Since slotting into a stable back 4 has shown he has all the capabilities to be (or is) a good defender at this level.

Like Big Kev loads. Does miss a few tackles here and there but he's looking good

I think Wimmer has one or two rash moments in him which so far have not been costly. He is actually similar to Vertonghen a few years back.
This season Jan has not shown his weaknesses and I think he should be put back in for the run in.

If this was the start of the season, and he'd come in and done well it'd be impressive.
To come in at this stage of the season, when teams are in full groove and settled, and slot straight in like Jan was never there is amazing.
He is nowhere near the finished article, but he is a proper defender. Toby obviuosly a huge help

I know. He's deluded and selective with what he wants to see, hear or believe.
