im not advocating what he did by the way, the issue is the fact that 15 16 are equally as immature as each other. one age is simply frowned upon whilst the other is punishable by losing your career and possibly spending a decade in jail. There could be as little as one day from one extreme to the other.

True, but there has to be an age, doesn't there? Imagine how complex things would get otherwise. And if there has to be an age, sixteen probably makes as much sense as any other.

I've often thought the same God, when does the girl officially become 16?

Is 1 minute past midnight on her birthday acceptable, or do you have to find out the exact time she was born?

What if it was one minute before? Can you give or take a few minutes in case the midwife's watch was 5 minutes slow/fast.

Another thing, what if both parties are 15. Do both persons get in trouble, or is it free reign if you're also underage?

Adam Johnson broke the law.
He isn't a paedophile. Paedophiles are people with a mental illness that are primarily attracted to prepubescent kids. Literally those who have no physical means (due to their age) to be bearing or producing kids.
Whatever your position on the matter, that is your own opinion and moral belief.
People might go on about why he wanted to bang a 15 year old but this nation produced a newspaper that counted down to a female underage singer becoming 16 and legal. A nation where Emma Watson was serialised before she reached the legal age and many more ordinary girls having the same done.
