WTF???!...Is wrong with football. As the man said, all those players and clubs, all that money THEY'VE made and NOT ONE player or club has ever given his little outfit a dam thing. The FA should be ashamed of it's goddamn self too. This guy clearly has a gift/talent for nurturing young talent and creating top flight players to be. Ok so all grass roots clubs need more funding, but this guy can take credit for producing enough of the highest calibre of player, to the tune of 2 squads worth. He's proven beyond any doubt that he's as valuable asset to English football as any of the clubs he's being forgotten by.
This isn't a dig at Utd guys, because as he states, it's ALL the greedy trough feeders that are "Football's Elite." Though it initially may seem over-dramatizing to use the word "Travesty" to describe what is happening to this guy and his little goldmine of a club. When you consider that this particular little goldmine has more than one direct player link to one of football's richest and arguably most famous clubs. Plus the fact that the current hottest hype in English football is yet another Flecther Moss Rangers' product. I honestly think the word travesty doesn't go far enough.
I love football but when I see/read things like this, it disgusts me. The EPL and the FA need to wake the hell up. As for the players whom came through that place, barr the young Rashford whom is yet to truly "Make it," every one of them needs a good slap, along with their parents. It's not the big clubs they owe. It's the tiny little rickety, broken down outfit that is Fletcher Moss Rangers. They would truly, most likely be nothing and no one, if not for the start they got there.
On behalf of football as a whole (unfortunately including the UNGRATEFUL selfish trough feeding elite ). I would like to say:
A MASSIVE thank you and even bigger WELL DONE SIRS/MADAMS!! To Mr David Horrocks and all the other selfless, hardworking people whom have been associated with Fletcher Moss Rangers over the years. Also the same to all the other little "goldmines of talent," like this one (because they won't be the only able to name a laundry list of "top flighters" whom they've never seen again). THESE are the people and places which make the most important contribution of all to English football. It really is about time the fat, trough feeding, pig that is the EPL is made to acknowledge it.
***Side note to Utd fans, all of you whom use twitter, please go and "Blow up" Wes Brown's Twitter account and tell him he should be the most ashamed of himself. How much did he win with Utd? How much money has he made? With a bit of luck, you'll it'll guilt him into writing a cheque and getting a few others to follow suit. And this isn't a dig, but you guys should all get on at your club to help this place. Let's face it Utd are likely one of the biggest losers in this place going under.

It doesn't reek of arrogance at all. Just some amateurs doing their best with little help.
The criticism, however reeks of the British way. Sit on the sidelines and sneer.

Can't bully people into charity OP.
All you can fairly do is be inspired to do what YOU can for clubs like the one your post mentions.
It isn't right or righteous to shame people into contributing to a cause they may or may not wish to.
Free capitalist state
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well in this case what we should be aiming for isn't "Donation." This is something that should not be optional. And correct me if I;m wrong but one of the first rules of capitalism is to secure and protect your assets. This place and clubs like it are footballs greatest asset. The financing in football should be regulated to ensure that is reflected.
The EPL as a whole should be partially footing the bill (along with government because they're safe places for our kids to play and be out of trouble) for these tiny little places, because there's more than enough money in football for that to happen. Just need to get the pigs away from the trough long enough for the piglets to get a bloody mouthful

not read the article fully
but rashford is only 18, and on 1.5k, under normal circumstances he would have been years away from making his debut. He and othher players like him need to only focus on getting better and their families and friends charity comes later if he ends up being a success.
The clubs owe nothing to the other clubs bar transfer fee. No more no less
The shoulder of responsibility lies with the FA and the club themselves imo
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Saying that effectively takes the richest element of the whole situation and absolves it of any responsibility for it's own future. It's actually a rather ridiculous stance to have.
"The elite of football owes no thanks or finance to the grass roots of the game that made it."
I suppose your one who thinks when a kid is an absolute little asbo git, we "shouldn't blame the parents"

Not read the article but if you were mega rich and you saw that a drug addict you knew was at risk of becoming homeless would you lend them money to sort out their bills or would you just be worried they would blow it all on more drugs and be back in a mess again?
-----------------------------------------
That's a fairly offensive analogy when you consider that the club is run to do a social good - helping kids (some of whom might actually get into drugs without some purpose in their lives) and the sport. It's a not-for-profit organisation and doesn't have commercial revenue streams open to it.
In what way is that comparable to an individual with a self-destructive streak?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Knew that comment would come back to bite me on the bum, like I say I didn't read the article properly. My bad shouldn't have said anything.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And let that be a lesson to you

From their website
"The club is moving on with their plans to secure a long term lease and serious funding to develop the site for us and the community. We need people with specialist skills in conveyancing, legal skills, surveying, building, building design, architects, public relations etc to help move forward. Would any of our members be willing to give up some time to benefit the club and build a more secure organisation".
Sounds to me that the wool is being pulled over someone's eyes here? I don't mean the club either but an over eager journo who hasn't done his homework maybe? No mention of poor facilities no mention of it being a Charter standard club just a desire to improve the club.

That, or "disillusional" or "disgraceful".
Mostly "di-" words anyway. And , of course. Never used to hear that at all, now it's almost conversational.
