It is highly likely that the 6pm KO for the Europa League second leg will not be changed. This is absolutely ridiculous for both sets of fans. A later kick off will mean that firstly fans will not have to take time off to go to the match and secondly the journey will not clash with rush hour traffic which is bad enough with all the roadworks going on in Manchester
The route going past OT is one of the major routes out of the City Center and it will cause chaos when the match day traffic is added to the rush hour traffic. For the later 1945 KO the rush hour traffic has subsided before the match-day traffic builds up so there isn't a problem.
Also surely a later KO means that more people will watch the game = more TV money.
Hopefully the safety committee will veto the 6pm KO.

Great kick off time. Only aunt of a boss would deny you it and every hour you're given off work is an hour you don't have to take away from your family.

Agree from a personal point of view, but I appreciate that not everyone can finish early.
Im away for the 2nd leg however so won't be able to go anyway, will have to settle for a nice little boozer after a day's skiing

I always stay behind after the game for a bit for everyone to clear off

It was tongue in cheek, but I think it's a bit unreasonable to expect UEFA to make allowances for every single city's logistic difficulties, or make special exceptions for Manchester fans. What should they do, switch it for someone else to encounter the same issues?
I presume too that having everyone kick off later would impact income from broadcasting rights and would negatively affect the organisation's affiliates. I find it absolutely logical that these considerations should take precedence over traffic inconveniences for the City of Manchester.
If the club's and FAs feel the early midweek kickoff times are a real issue, then it's something they should address in the planning phase of the tournament, not on an ad hoc basis.
In short, it just sounds like another excuse to have a good old whinge about UEFA (as if there weren't enough reasons already).

It'll give them time to take another couple of wheels off, though?

Crap time for a match. Can see these two fixtures being pretty feisty occasions. Having it at 6 probably increases the chances of people drinking all day before they go.
