Just read this article... a lovely read and one I'd say most Spurs fans can sympathise with.

No problem gents... thought was a lovely intelligent piece... makes a change from the hyperbolic nature of most football editorials... and the guy's clearly a massive Spur. I've always liked his writing in the Guardian - my new favourite journalist.

Agreed, far too many journos out there who haven't a clue about what real fans have to go through, as he said in the article its far too easy to support a team like United, most gloryhunting fans follow success!

Excellent article, and a fantastic post, this should appeal to football fans regardless of club affiliation, despite rivalries and banter at our core true football fans are generally very very similar to one another, and none of us are immune to mental illness. I really liked this piece, and can certainly relate to several parts of it.

The bits about Utd and Chelsea made me feel so glad that we are nothing like them - god help us if it ends up like that!

Thanks for the pointer to this brilliant article Doctor M!
I am the same age as the writer and it's uncanny how similar the path he and I have taken is.
Five 's to both you and him.

I beg to differ.
