The two North London teams are now evenly matched - very different but pretty close.
Their first choice keeper and ours are equal. I slightly prefer their full backs to ours. Perm any two from three of our CB's and they are hands down better than anything Arsenal has. Our two are stronger in the defensive mid area, but they have more creativity and technical skill in their three attacking mids. On yesterday's showing, there's not much to choose between Welbeck and Kane, with Harry having a better eye for goal but Danny getting behind people better. With Giroud as well, they have better depth than us in that position.
We have the superior Manager - younger, hungrier, more modern and prepared to blood young English players.
Despite all that I wouldn't swap places for the world - and I never would have. Spurs are my team and I will always hate Arsenal, and Yes it is actually hatred that I feel. I think I blame Liam Brady for all this. When I was a kid, stood on the Shelf, Brady came along for Arsenal and was just a bit too good for my liking. I hated it when he got the ball, because there was a chance he'd create something special. And I hated the rest of them nearly as much - Kennedy, McLintock, Graham, that lot. And those red shirts, they made me sick.
Just like yesterday when I felt borderline nauseous, because I wanted us to beat them so bad. Please tell me fellow lilywhites, have I just let this rivalry thing go a bit too far?

Granola, gotta say you wrote a very level-headed article for someone harbouring so much hatred.
If you were indeed around to watch Brady - fine, fine footballer - then I suspect that at your age a fair bit of that hatred is a touch tongue in cheek.

Arsenal as a club don't seem to generate negative headlines. Racist players/fans, serial cheating, club mouthpieces blaming everyone else for their failures etc so I can respect that.

My comments may sound level headed now (in the cold light of day) but yesterday from 12:45, I was transported back to the terraces in the 1970s where all that hatred was formed. It's illogical and immature but it's also raw and it's primal. I think the word "tribal" is the one which sums it up best. Our white tribe against their red tribe, no quarter given

Just watched the highlights on Match of the Day, after watching the whole game yesterday, and I thought Spurs should have won that game at a canter. Arsenal other than their two goals, and one other half chance were not in the game, Spurs could have had another half a dozen goals on another day.
