"It is great to have both of last year's footballer of the years here at Tottenham in Gareth Bale, who was the PFA Player of the Year, and now Scott Parker.
"Scott is exactly what we need. He is a good character and an excellent professional with a great attitude. He will be fantastic for us both on and off the pitch.
"I am delighted that Luka Modric is still here. The chairman stood firm and I hope he will go on to have a great season for us. We are strong in the middle of the park now. Scott Parker has arrived, Sandro is getting fit and we also have Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore.
"We are pleased to welcome Emmanuel Adebayor to the Club too and he gives us good options in attack. He was outstanding against us when we played Real Madrid in the Champions League last season. He has fantastic ability and if he comes here and reproduces that kind of form he will be a real threat for us.
"I spoke to Rio Ferdinand last week prior to our game against Man United and he told me that him and Nemanja Vidic felt he was always their toughest opponent. If he can give them problems then he can give anyone problems.
"We are also fortunate to have three top goalkeepers at the Club now following the addition of Brad Friedel earlier this summer. He has already shown what he is capable of with his performances so far this season. He is a fantastic pro and a great goalkeeper.
"We have also had to reduce our number of players to get them all in our 25-man playing squad. It was difficult and we wish those leaving well.
"We are looking forward to the rest of the season now. We have got a good squad and it is going to be exciting."
Fair enough?

Gio does not play for the simple reason that he is not good enough and his attitude is appalling.
Why we have not shipped him out god only know but its probably that nobody wants him

Grand, if he can improve on his attitude do you personally think he has a chance to make it at Spurs?

THuddy
Probably not IMO. Despite his attitude if he was as good as some people make out Harry would have picked him.
For some strange reason a lot of people rate him highly and yet he has done virtually nothing.
Ok he has done ok for Mexico but as we all know internaional football is totally different and who was he facing in the internationals ? Scoring against the likes of Paraguay is a bit different to scoring against man u.
We had the same with Tarabaat (spelling) and so far what has he done against prem opposition ?
There is a hell of a lot more to being a good pro than the odd stepover and the odd good goal and Spurs fans have a habit of declaring "world class" before they have actually done anything.
Think of Palacios, one game and he was hyped up by our own fans to be something special. None of them seemed to notice he could not pass a ball for another year or so.
IMO Gio has had plenty of time to prove his so called quality and he has failed. I do not expect him to succeed now.

Great goal here, but look at the No.13 and his... defending??? don't know what he's doing really!
Point is, Gio is unlikely to get time like this in the PL

I'd prefer the 'Arry looking at it with MOUTH half full' .
