Chopping and changing countries

With news that Boyd Rankin has changed his allegiance back to Ireland, after his failed attempt at being a test match cricketer with England, I wondered why Irish cricketers appear to be allowed to change country so easily.

It just doesn't seem right that, in the space of about 3 years, Rankin will have played for three countries.

Agree... Utter nonsense these flip-flopping migrations. Eng has 3-4 teams>Rankin rejoins Irish ranks with ambition renewed... ICC issue though
