I tried hard to give the manager some time. To understand what he was trying to build at Man utd, but after last night I think he has to go.
Although I like that he is bringing through youth players and giving them a chance. Just looks at the starting lineup and the bench yesterday. That would not (will not) happen with Mourinho.
But whoever the new manager is, I think we need to have a large scale clear out of players. Just considering the players who played last night. These are the ones I think we need to get rid of.
Fellaini needs to go. He is not a bad player, but the way we play when he is on the field is terrible.
Schneiderlin has not worked out. he's simply not good enough for Manchester united.
Rojo is terrible. Gives away too many fouls, makes mistakes and is not reliable. If he was any good at attacking you might let him off on some of these points. But he isn't, so I wont.
Blind. He is just not very good. I don't think he is a very good defender. If we clear out some midfield players and permanently play him there he might be able to make it, but otherwise he has to go. He also doesn't seem to care about Manchester united and I think that shows in his play.
Schewinsteiger. I don't see what he brings to the club. He has had a few good games, and it is good to have somebody with his experience in the team. But i don't think that is enough to justify a place and a contact when he is playing at such a low level. Bayern knew what they were doing when they sold him.
I think Ed Woodward also needs to appoint somebody to help with the football side of his job. He is incredible at making money and growing the Manchester United Brand. But our recruitment policies have been terrible for the last few years. Ed should run the commercial side of the club and hire somebody to work under him to handle the football side.
Herrera. I think he is a great player and could be the future of this club. But instead, I fear he will never get a chance, end up at Barcelona and be the new Iniesta for the next 10 years. Just like Pogba and Pique.
So, which players or staff do you think should stay or go?
FYI, I don't want Mourinho. There must be other managers out there who will be able to build something.
How many players have to go?

I see you Fellaini, chicken madras.

I think its worrying how much rebuilding we need to do but I dont agree wholesale changes are needed.
Mata, Fellaini, Rojo, Rooney and Jones need to go.
The rest need time.
A striker, wide player, CM and a CB are needed to replace them but have to be first team starters.

"Fellaini needs to go. He is not a bad player"
Er - yes he is, he's absolutely awful
And I really hope UEFA take retrospective action following his disgusting elbow in the dying moments last night.

Don't see what good another wholsesale clearout would do.
Think you need to consider bringing in potential starters, but a lot of the current first-choice picks can still be kept on as useful backups. Most of the names you've mentioned could be kept in that capacity imo.

In my opinion whoever takes over and should we keep the same players this should be the starting 11 -
De Gea
Darmian Smalling ? Shaw
Morgan Herrera ?
? ? Martial
So in reality we need a CB, CM and 2 wide / inside players.
Players like Blind, Carrick etc are ok as squad players. As for who I'm not sure, would love to see the pace of Mahrez or someone who can finish.

Depay has been shocking too so maybe a squad option for now unless his attitude worsens. Martial needs a couple of experienced players alongside him upfront. As for defenders I havent got the foggiest.

I would start the other way and say who would you keep to build a world class team that could take on Real, Barca etc.
Would only be De gea and Martial if we are all honest.
Even the fans favourites...
Mata is too slow at this level, bit of a luxury player.
Smalling, great at heading the ball but is becoming a bit of a liability with his hugging in the box and his passing is really bad.
Shaw good defensively but offers no creativity going forward.
All decent but not world class. After all the money spent its shocking that we only have a couple of players that could compete at the highest level.
