Gerrard's return.....

......I honestly think that Liverpool play consistently better football without Gerrard and as such his return may not be a good thing.
He is without doubt a very gifted footballer but he lacks positional discipline - this sometimes, very rarely, pays off as in CL final and FA cup final - but across a league campaign it does not - he tries to be everywhere and do everything even in an England shirt which negates the argument about having to do inferior players work.
By trying to get everything to move through Gerrard it leaves massive gaps and he is often out of position and therefore across a league season gets found out.
The football Liverpool has been playing is so far top class this season and my belief is that Gerrard will be detrimental to the overall structure and style of play.
Just my observation. It will be interesting to see how Liverpool perform when he returns and what Daglish does with him.

I think he will be a lot more disciplined in is play now Kenny is in charge. Don't forget that he is now not the biggest man on campus for the first time in donkeys years!

I've considered this a big myth for ages.

When he's asked to stick to on position he does. He's played DM for England plenty of times and sticks to his role, and England almost always kept a clean sheet.

However, most of the time managers give him a free role and he roams. Because that's what he's asked to do.

Either this is the case or 5+ managers have watched him ignore all their instructions and started him every match when fit anyway. Which would be absurd.

Kenny + Gerrard is a dream come true. I think we will get another couple of excellent seasons out of Stevie yet. Kenny will know how to manage him and I can't wait to see him back.

There was a topic on BBC5live the other night about the perfect 10,not necessarily the number on the players shirt more the position he takes up and what he brings to the team, the description was a midfielder who links the play orchestrates the team and score goals but also defends when needed,I was thinking about Liverpool and the name that came straight to mind was Steven Gerrard.
