Heysel/Munich

I really can't believe that we are still hearing song about Munich /Heysel/Hilsbourough. I think that those that sing such songs are just thugs and not representative of their clubs, more representative of society unfortunately.

I have lots of mates who support Utd and they are nice people. I know, unbelievable eh

All I want to say is that you shouldn't hate United for the Hilsborough songs any more than you should hate Liverpool for the Munich songs.

Maybe we should do more in the stands when we hear these idiots start.

After all, I can think of a lot more legitimate reasons for detesting mancs lol.

Let's just see a bit more humanity in football and a little bit less hate.

Sad isn't it.
I'll bow to your judgement Admin, pull it if you think it should be pulled, or should you wait for a while and see how it goes?

See how it goes, I'm in the house and have my laptop up. I'm fortunate to know from the running of JA606 that the vast majority of fans for the vast majority of clubs are decent people. The minority however loud and vocal are thankfully not representative.

If people step out of line and try and condone the behaviour you'd probably be better off banning them. Whatever club you support is irrelevant in instances like this. It's not about point-scoring or tribalism.

Spot on OP.

I cannot fathom how people who have no doubt suffered grief in their own lives would mock lost lives as some kind of point scoring. It's absolutely disgusting.

The idiots singing these horrible chants must be condemned by everyone regardless of allegiance. There is absolutely no room in football for it and unless more of a conscious effort is made to condemn them then they will continue.

Any United or Liverpool fan that sings those songs are both vile and disgusting but they're also the biggest hypocrites ever.

They'd lose there minds when the other set of fans sing the song about there tragedy but then go and sing a song about there tragedy. Brainless, horrendous, awful behaviour.

Hopefully any fans involved in these chants receive lifetime stadium bans

Completely agree with the sentiments expressed.
But don't know the answer. Hard to imagine what it, must be like in their heads.

As for doing more in the stands, it would be deeply unfortunate and saddening to expect people to accept ownership of anything other than their own conduct.

I'm not sure I've fundamentally disagreed with anything on JA606 as this Admin1. Personally I believe in society and part of a functioning society is the ability to self-regulate (/police).

Pointing out unacceptable behaviour isn't about accepting responsibility, that really would be crazy, but taking on the responsibility for your environment is admirable in my opinion. As long as it's done in the correct way obviously.

One of the things that really annoys me about all this is the way in which the media appear to fan the flames.

Exactly the same story could have been slanted toward the way that LFC and Manchester United are working hard to eradicate such behaviour in the grounds.

I know that at Anfield and at Old Trafford, video evidence will be used to identify, ban and prosecute those involved and that is what the press story should have concentrated on.

in italy when fans sing bad songs they have that end of the stadium closed for the next game.

Thing is though 4za, that means the club suffers for the actions of a few yobbo's.

I think it's fair to say that Man Utd, Liverpool and many other clubs are doing all that they can. I just think there is more that the real fans could do.
