that was the main objective, another couple of crackers from Harry, made up for the statutory missed goals he seems to have most matches. But he usually comes up with the goods, so no real complaints, and looks like he may now end up with Golden Boot. Brilliant effort, considering how badly he started the season. He certainly is not a one season wonder, like some of the plums said he would be.
My only gripe today is once again Poch made very negative substitutions, as soon as Villa saw Eriksen and Ali leave the pitch, they upped their game a bit, and did have a couple of near misses. Seeing Carrol and Mason come on just does not do it for me, and I think the opposition really must be rubbing their hands when they see those two come of the bench. The correct subs today should have been Son and Chadli on (Chadli I know did come on, but only as 3rd sub), Villa see them and they pack up completely. Maybe I on on my own on this, but Spurs will get away with those kind of subs against the lesser sides, but as shown last week against Arsenal, it changed the game for the worse.
Anyway good day all round.
Arsenal, and their fans fighting each other.
Man U, nearly a
14 points in front of Liverpool.
Two points behind Leicester now, the pressure is right on them Monday to try to beat Newcastle. Could it be that Newcastle win at the top two teams this season, and still get relegated. I live in hope.
PS I am thinking over nipping over to the Chelsea Board to see if they have any silver polisher, they won`t be needing it for a while.
Good three points today, and

Hopefully Newcastle give them a hiding and get them nervous

We never got out of second gear to be fair, and the intensity of our pressing game was way less than is usual, but we were able to win at a canter so we could afford to save a bit of energy today.
I think our players switched off a bit second half as they knew the game was all but won, and that is why Villa had a couple of chances.
Job done and 3 points but we will have to play better than that in other away games at Stamford Bridge, The Brittania and the 12 men of Klanfield.

The main objective today obviously was to get the three points which we got with not too much of a problem.
The performance was not all that in my opinion. We didn't hit top form and despite having the best GD in the league we are not as ruthless and efficient in front of goal as we should be.
I would have liked to have seen Son come on as he definitely needs more game time to bring him up to speed as he has looked a bit off his game since coming back from his injury. He could make a difference in some of the upcoming games so we need to ensure he is ready. Expect to see him and Chadli start on Thursday.

Newcastle won't give them a hiding but may nick a draw .
Regarding todays game your right Sandy it should have been Son and Chadli on. For some reason we seemed content with the 2-0. We were totally in control for the first hour or so then i think we got too casual and cocky. Alli was trying too many flicks, and Eriksen and Lamela just werent adding to our attacks.
Villa should have scored a goal or two right at the end and that would have been a catastrophe considering how we had bossed the game.
I don't know if its a lack of experience or maturity but we need to be relentless in getting more goals and put the game out of sight.

I think you are being a bit unfair Sandy. We backed off at 70 odd minutes and started to lose possession before the subs took place. Carroll did ok and Mason came on at 87 so not sure how you can be critical of the lad?

I think Eriksen didn't want to come off - looked a bit pisssssed.
