Cannot open link in OP but the lad who got shot is a friend of my daughters boyfriend and has serious mental health issues
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"the first time a shot has been fired by a police officer since the formation of Police Scotland three years ago"
And it was non fatal. Really is a testament to UK policing.

I considered joining the Police when I was leaving the mob but starting on a recruit wage didn't appeal to me.
However from what I've heard from guys I know that did; if you are ex-squaddie (possibly ex-forces as a whole) then you get no where near armed response for the first few years as the training and desired outcome are very different.

Curly, a few boys I grew up with are starring for your local side these days.
Ryan Hackey Haxton and Darren Dazza Miller.
Dazza is a cracking boy and a terrific footballer into the bargain, could easily be playing at a higher level

That's the big issue in the USA, it isn't. The police have become militarised, even their clothing is becoming more Army like.
