Adama Traoré

What's the story with this kid?

Heard he made a few encouraging appearances early in the season, then of went off the radar. I later heard Garde had given him a scloding, but not sure if it was attitude, indiscipline or other reasons.

I also know he was injured in Jan, but what's his situation now - is he still out, or has Garde just dropped him down into the reserves?

Think I've seen make the highlights on MOTD a few times of late, looks decent. Can't say much though as I haven't seen enough.

That's about it. Think he was looking a bit better before his last injury, but a long way still to go. Needs to develop the right instincts when he's deep in the opposition half. But a load of potential there. What he needs are games, maybe as sub, but with his injuries hasn't had them. Unfortunately, his speed is so good he's likely to get clobbered frequently.

Thanks

I suppose you're always going to look better in the Spanish 2nd division surrounded by a group of technically gifted players.

Still, only 20, so I suppose he has time to adapt to the rigours of the English game.

Can see what you mean with "player for now", but did you guys really expect to be where you are now? I know you were expected to be involved in the lower half, but so far off the pace...?

I live in Spain, so don't get to follow the PL that closely, but Sherwood was the butt of many a joke even before this season.

However, Garde has had a long time to turn it round and the team's sunk ever further. Potentially right man/wrong time, or shouldn't he be allowed anywhere near a PL club either?

Opinions differ on Garde. I think he has the makings of a good manager. Given the mess we were in I don't think there was a right manager for this time; the problems were too deep. I wouldn't say the team has sunk further; if Sherwood had stayed, given his record we'd have ended the season on 13 points. And Sherwood had a full pre-season and largely his own players (whatever he says). If Garde is able to overhaul the squad over the summer then I'm quite happy for him to stay, but he may want to leave Villa behind him.

Whatever, Paddy's right. Time and time again both Sherwood and Garde have been rooted to the spot in disbelief at the howlers committed by the experienced players who were bought to be the backbone of the team.
