Good news for Villa. Like you say, one down, a couple more to go.

Though for the life of me I cant see why Lerner had to hire Hollis to do what all Villa fans knew needed doing. Why didnt Lerner sack these 'yes men' himself?

He must be the most spineless billionaire the world has ever seen! They are ususally pretty ruthless people.

Lerner has never been a hands-on owner. He let MON run things as he saw fit, subject to an annual review. Faulkner was appointed mainly to keep the non-football side of things ticking over. He did take more of an interest in upping his communications with Lambert, but nowhere near enough. I think he realised that he needed somebody to do the hands-on bit for him, hence Fox, but in that instance totally underestimated the football understanding needed to do the role. Hollis isn't a football person but he knows it, and seems to have enough brains to work out where it's going wrong.
