Interesting to read a story from the other side of the coin.

By single handedly knocking one of the best teams of all time in a team with 10 men, would Bentdner have become an Arsenal legend? Barca went on to win it that year, how would things have changed for them if they had lost that game?
One of the most career defining moments of a players career I've witnessed
That Bendtner chance against Barca

Also CL is literally defined by fine margins.

Neither I or my dad are Arsenal fans but I remember us being off our seats screaming at Bendtner when he missed that chance.

We probably wouldn't have bottled the league as much and come 2nd I reckon.
We could have beaten Shakhtar in the quarters, but Mourinho's Madrid in the semis? Nah. Fergie's United in the final would have been tough too.

Henry also bottled it against them.

Don't think you'll find many major k.o. tournaments - CL, World Cup, Euros or otherwise - where the eventual champions didn't experience a close shave or two. Conversely, the path to the title is littered with teams fallen by the wayside whose fans bemoan their 'bad luck'.
