It looks like enough is enough and that Mr Hollis' axe will now fall on Remi.
When pressed on Friday, Mr Hollis was non committal regarding Remi's future, as was to be expected. However it looks like Kevin Mac will be in caretaker charge for the next league game.
Whilst I appreciate Remi's dignity under extremely difficult circumstances and make allowances for him working with another managers squad, 2 wins out of 20 or so games is awful, we have seen little or no improvement under him. I was not impressed with him yesterday at Swansea, motionless at times, showing little emotion or it appeared interest. Out of his depth.
If Remi goes, I will wish him well and do not hold him accountable for our inevitable relegation.
We have been here so many times before, yet the next managerial appointment is one of the most important in recent times.
Goodbye Remi?

Do I think we are a big club, hence too big for Moyes? CERTAINLY NOT.Listen, we are no longer a big club. OK? Moyes just isn't good enough - for anyone. He may have been once but people go into decline with age snd he is one of them. I was amazed that Fergie apparently recommended him for United. But then I remember that Fergie also recommended McLeish for Villa. Moyes simply is past any useful best. Look elsewhere.

Just a point if story in mail trueish would you take Pearson knowing we are possibly second choice?

Wouldn't take Pearson, period. Both Pearson and Bruce are managers used to running a club with no questions asked, big fish in small pond style. Looking at what Hollis and Bernstein are setting up, they are putting in place a structure which they expect the manager to be part of. Definitely a manager and not a coach, Bernstein said so. The Almstad replacement will be director of operations not director of footbal; they want somebody good at running day to day background operations but with enough football background to understand what's needed, unlike Almstad.
So the manager will be at the centre of the football side of things, but will need to be capable of working with the football sub-board, in particular with Bernstein on a regular basis. Can't see Pearson fitting easily into that, and I think Bruce wouldn't either.
However, Moyes could, with no trouble at all. He'll want to sign the players and coaches he wants, but there's enough leeway there for him to do that. When Fox approached him before he didn't think there was (Reilly telling Moyes who to sign; can you believe it?!).
Moyes and the board look a good fit to me.
There's some polls doing the round on who people think Villa should go for. Moyes is way out in front on all the ones I've seen.

I am with McParland all the way.
Moyes I think pretty much guarantees success with a club like ours. He will play young players and seems to be able to improve players.
Pearson would be more of a risk for me. I wouldn't be disappointed if we got him, but I just don't think we are in a position to risk too much. Yes I appreciate Leicester and anyone associated with them are the flavour of the month and rightly so, but Moyes will have learnt a lot since leaving Everton and he did a great job with the toffee men.

Moyes could do a good steady job. But in this day and age how long will "fans" give him? It has to be success now - and next week and the week after - or else fans get on the managers back.
On the other hand.. what would the football be like under Moyes? I dont know.
Personally, if I have to choose between "success" (being in the PL and winning most of the time) or playing attractive football, I couldnt care less about the success part. Good to watch matters much more!

Wednesday afternoon and Remi is still here. Maybe the question won't arise after all
It's pretty obvious that when no transfers came through the door in January that the then board had hung Remi out to dry, hence he hasn't looked happy since; he knew what was coming. I read somewhere that when he knew transfers were out that Remi told Fox that he (Remi) would be sacked before the end of the season.
The new board is different. I think they'll look in depth at where we're going and what the options are. I'm fairly certain that keeping Remi will be an option they'll certainly consider. They seem to be talking to him about the squad, problems, and where we go. I reckon the odds are still in favour of him going but only just; I think it'll depend on what they think they want for next season rather than current form.
Don't think they'll rush to a decision but don't think it's far off either.

An encouraging rumour, here:-

I’ve always thought that Moyes would be a good fit for us. We desperately need an experienced manager with a strong character. I remember when he took on the Everton job, as a young manager, they were in a real mess with players who didn’t seem to care – much like our Club. MOTD highlighted an incident during one of his first games where he fiercely reprimanded one of his ‘star’ players. Oh, to have a boss like that at Villa. I’d love to see a manager get hold of some of our players and give them a taste of this treatment, in front of our fans. The roof would come off Villa Park.
I know he may not be as exciting as some, but I think we would be in safe hands. If there’s any truth in the rumour, I would be a very happy man. There may be an end to this nightmare.

Personally it's a toss up between Moyes and Rodgers for me.
They both have strong and weak points; and I am not overly convinced either candidate will make you one of the top 8 Premiership clubs in the long term.
However, they are the best from a rather disparate collection for the short to mid term. Just so long as the fans are patient and not to expect instant promotion back into the Promised Land in just one season!
Hollis is certainly the pivotal factor I think. With him at the helm I think it will convince the likes of Moyes & Rodgers that Villa is worth the risk taking on; and that from now on all footballing matters will be actioned by those that know the game rather than by some anonymous committee.
Do feel sorry for Garde though. Talk about dead-man-walking! But then again perhaps he secretly wants to leave asap; it won't have done his CV much good, but it is true to say he's had his hands tied behind his back the moment he joined the club.
Odd thing is though, as a BlueNose, I did originally find the circus act going on down the road at Villa over the last 12 months highly amusing in a schadenfreude kind of way!
But all banter aside, I do have a lot of respect for the club, and they have served the city well over the last 30 years or so. It's such a shame that they have now become a national laughing stock both on and off the pitch.
Shame!

Thank you Jack. At least old enmities can be resumed next season
Wouldn't rule Rodgers out. Better than Pearson, Bruce or McCarthy in my view. Think Rodgers would be OK with this season's younger recruits.
Wouldn't rule out Remi, depends on whether he or the board or both think it's time for a clean break. I'd like him to stay and give it to the lazy overpaid scroungers who haven't done it for him and the club.

People claim Everton played crap football under Moyes, and we did for a good few years, but near the end of his tenure we started to play decent footy.
lionbrad- Who exactly is it you want to manage Villa if Moyes isn't good enough? If he can get Everton to 4th on a shoestring, he may get Villa back in the prem on a similar budget. I feel a bit sorry for Moyes,he wasn't gone long before Kenwright handed Martinez £28m to spend on one player, something Moyes could only dream of.
