Darren Ferguson says he is taking one game at a time, but the realistic view is that we MUST get six points from tomorrow and Monday. Colchester are rock bottom and Blackpool are one place above us. These are two must wins and to help, Df has brought in Gary McSheffrey from Scunny and Remi Matthews a keeper from Norwich to strengthen the squad.
There is also the possibility of a defender coming in before tomorrow. We will be without Luke McCullough as he is on Northern Ireland International duty.
According to DF, McSheffrey is a veteran quality player who can play up front and out on the wing. He has experience of higher grade football and has also been in relegation fights. He has a cool head in the final third. Remi Matthews is well thought of at Norwich, 22 years old and had six loan games with three clean sheets at Burton earlier in the season.
Remi says he jumped at the chance to play for Darren Ferguson who he admires as a manager. Many will hope he debuts tomorrow with the BFG sitting on the bench, it's wait and see time.
On the injury front, Mitchell Lund should be fit for Monday, Friday is
too early, Marko Marosi trained yesterday and is also available. Danni "Sick note 2" N'Guessen is done for the season and I would think as a Rovers player as DF says there are few who are not signed for next year but there will have to be some weeding out.
We need to produce the same kind of performance as we did against Peterborough but the outcome has to be different. James Coppinger was big on Saturday and knows what is needed, play the same and we will get the result. We MUST concentrate for the full game and not switch off prior to the end of each half.
We have to break the cycle of defeats, this is a vital, vital weekend. It is in our hands with the other bottom teams to play.. The next game is the most important, Colchester have had a poor season but they are putting some results together. We are looking at three points on Friday and then thinking about the Blackpool game.
We have to concentrate on the immediate future and that is safety, but there is a definite long term plan for the future of the club. There are many things which must change at the club and although we are in a survival mode, I cannot overlook the future.

Yankee , it isn't the players is it.
They were good enough up to the Stoke game weren't they?
This manager has no plan B and can't see that the defence needs bolstering.
He has brought us to our knees.

Unfortunately we are unlikely to sack Ferguson, as who would take over till the end of the season? I do feel that the Board has let many people down by not investing in the team, I don't just mean money either, we have people who are not interested in football owning the side.
They should have invested in a football Director who has a knowledge of the game. If things don't improve I can see us in the Conference after next season.

May be we should take a leaf out of the Rugby union book and have a defence coach. Rob Jones !!

Total clear out from top to bottom. Embarrassing. Going on Monday just so I can chuck a few insults to the players and management. Hope to see a couple of the board but I'll not hold my breath.

Just got back.
We possibly shaded the first half, but there was not a lot of shape or skill on show. McShreffry worked hard, possibly a bit too physically at times, but he gave the Us something to think about.
They outclassed us in the second half. Evina might as well not have been there. Massey beat him at will and outpaced him too. JTS did rather better. Tyson was not very effective at all. Rowe seemed quite good at times and Matthews played confidently and could hardly be blamed.
Copps was OK, but no better than that and I thought MacKenzie did allright when he was brought on.
Overall though, as one Us fan said as we left "they were awful".

Thanks Don.
Is Mckenzie that bad he cant get a start or is it that he has said the the wrong thing at the right time to the person who cant stand criticism

Experience and commitment can be more important as JTS showed over Evina. They are at the stage where playing safe in defence is more important than anything.
NY mentioned the coach and I am surprised DF kept on Dickov's man because yesterday they were sorely in need of technical guidance.

Fergie makes the decisions don and maybe that is another bad one.
Lanza, DF's history would suggest you may be right about McKenzie not playing.
Also, Fergies post match comments suggest that he may have lost the confidence of the team, lost the dressing room as the popular saying goes.
