Quick question

How good is Danny Drinkwater, what sort of player is he
and should he be on the plane to France?

I'm trying to decide who should be in the 23 man squad
and I just realised he's the midfielder I know least about.

Defensive Midfielders:
Eric Dier
Michael Carrick (still a good player but age is against him)
Gareth Barry (see above)

Box to Box Midfielders:
Jordan Henderson
Fabian Delph
Jack Wilshere (amazing on his day, but hasn't played this season)
James Milner (versatile, but too slow for my liking)

Attacking Midfilders:
Dele Alli
Adam Lallana
Ross Barkley

What category would you put Danny in,
could he play the holding role by himself?

Drinky 🍸 can play any role on the pitch better than anyone. Its what Drinky 🍸 does.

Drinky is a quality player and one of the best midfielders in the league without a doubt.

He's box to box, very good defensively, controls games and his passing is superb. I likened his passing to Hoddle earlier in the season and was laughed at but I think people are now beginning to see it. He's lke a quarter back for us with Vardy as his wide reciever.

He shouldn't just be on the plane, he should start. Let's not forget where he came from either, United have the best academy in the country and he has learnt his trade at the best club possible.

I'm concerned about our defence, it looks shocking and we'll struggle with whichever combination Woy chooses. They're all poor in comparison to previous England defenders, truly awful.

Our midfield and attack look good but we won't be successful while they're our choice of defenders. It's s pity Wes plays for Jamaica because him and Smalling would be a great pairing. Oh well.

My England team

Joe Hart

Clyne. Smalling Cahill. Baines

Dier. Drinky

Ali or Barkley

Vardy. Kane. Sterling

Best midfielders in the league? Do me a favour, he was dropped to the bench last season.

We're not talking about last season

Him and Kante are the best pairing in the league and there's no doubt about that, they're the only midfield pair because nobody else plays two in the middle!

Danny Murphy reckons he's the best and i'll go with him, he knows.

I'm not disputing Leicester are a good unit, but are they as impressive out of that unit? Time will tell.

Hoddle >>>>>>>> Drinkwater.

Passing yes, Drinky's passing and vision is superb and very Hoddleesque, just a pity his finishing isn't, King has that attribute where he just passes it into the net.

Drinky was our POTY when we won the Championship and now he is producing the same performances at PL level. Kante allows Drinky to play his game no doubt but he's a very talented player and could play for any team in the league. He's the complete box to box midfielder and Murphy has been singling him out all season.
