Latest seems to be that Remi is going, but the board are haggling over the compensation terms. To me it's a no brainer; Remi has a contract including compensation if dismissed. Pay it.
The board seems to think that he wants to go and therefor shouldn't get as much. This is nonsense. Remi's going essentially because the actions of the (old) board made it impossible for him to stay; constructive dismissal.

The compensation terms are unlikely to be the 3 years he has left; most contracts these days have severance terms passed on one year's salary. That seems reasonable to me; he was landed in it by the appalling people running Villa.
There's further information on Riley in the Telegraph:

It appears that his "scouting network" has fallen apart; the chief European scout has emigrated to Australia, and another scout turns out to be an undergraduate doing a degree in journalism. It says that apparently Riley told Garde that the players he wanted didn't want to come; when Garde investigated he found they hadn't been asked. You couldn't make it up

You've got a facking university student as a scout?
Christ almighty, your club is a proper mess.

What happened to Villa? 7/8 years ago you were top 4 contenders.

I thought the farcical situation we found ourselves in a few years back with our dodgy chairman Carson "Charlie Chan" Yeung, was beyond the pale, and so typical of the Mickey-Mouse operation going on behind the scenes at Blues at the time.
But these latest exposés at VP really do make me wonder what the hell is going in the respective boardrooms these days by all these iffy foreign investors and their dumb henchmen coming in, taking over the entire footballing operation from top to bottom, and not having a real clue how to run a football club!
The incompetence at Villa is breathtaking; and again it just shows how underhand things are behind closed doors!
I do hope the Birmingham Mail will do a full investigation of these appalling revelations; seems to me some of the old board members like Fox, were in it just for the money, and basically used "Google" to figure out how to run a football club.
And I would worry that if further exposés are revealed over the next few days, will it scare off the likes of Moyes, Pearson & Dyche?
Poor Remi: well ans truly shafted from the moment he arrived ...

Getting a good manager in depends on the new board being seen to deal with the problems and putting the club on the right sort of footing. It's looking as though we may now have the right sort of people running the club. I think Moyes, Pearson and Dyche can very quickly decide if the setup is for them, and it's beginning to look hopeful.
Can't see Dyche being interested if Burnley are promoted though. Moyes for me, although I'd go with Pearson if he came.

If this is true about Paddy Riley, how in God's name is he still at Villa Park?
Regarding the new manager, if it's true that the board's requirements are for someone who has achieved promotion from the Championship, then that rules out Moyes. He didn't achieve it. So it seems to be between Pearson, Bruce, Dyche and Rodgers?
