Two Horse Race?

Davie Moyes or Nigel Pearson?

Am in two minds if it is down to those two,

Moyes has declared his interest it seems, hewould steady the ship and have them organised but boring probably a fair few 1-0's.

Pearson is a nutjob, never really paid much attention to Leicester in the Championship but he did start them off.

Both completely different, but both would do well

50/50 really

Delusional villa fans yet again.

If only you'd managed that for about 5 more games this season eh?

Why delusional?

Championship is a bit different from the Premiership

Villa are sheite we all know that, but slowly but surely they are getting rid of the wasters that were running the club, sort it out at the top then they have a chance on the pitch.

Not delusional at all to expect 'a fair few' 1-0's

it will be one of the two, Dyche and Bruce I dont think will leave there present jobs.

I am leaning towards Moyes

It is still a massive job, whoever takes over..Imo it will be a 4 year plan

1st season,, get rid of the deadwood, build a squad capable of competing, maybe scrape into the playoffs, maybe not

2nd Season, if still in the Championship, build on the 1st season and push for promotion

3rd Season hopefully back in the PL, looking at Swansea/leicester for examples of staying up and pushing the mid table clubs

4th Season..well take it from there

This could be completely wrong, we could storm it but that is being delusiuonal lol or we could just go into free fall..who knows but it will be four seasons imo to be back challenging in the PL

Those two are the front-runners, although neither is dead cert. I'd take either but have a preference for Moyes. He did a very good job at Everton, stabilised the club, and had them consistently winning games. He's only boring in the same way as Mourinho; he puts top priority on winning games. At the moment Everton are losing matches from winning positions; that rarely happened under Moyes. In a long Championship season then I think he could maintain a consistent level of performances.

Moyes wasn't too successful against top teams; I think under Lambert we were more successful! But maybe we aren't too worried about that at the moment. I think for the next few critical years he'd restore the fear factor for teams coming to Villa Park.

Having said that, Pearson is an attractive option as well, maybe he'd build a more attacking team, but it might take longer.

If neither come I'd go for Rodgers. He still has a better record at Liverpool than Klopp. The poor signings were down to the "committee"; sound familiar?

I'm partly optimistic; I think with the right manager we could get back in 1 year and 2 years would be a good bet, and I think that's what Bernstein is aiming for. Unfortunately, the Lerner factor hasn't gone away and that might rear its ugly head again.
