I wouldn't be surprised if Villa appoint the new manager just after relegation is confirmed (presumably in a couple or 3 weeks) with the leading candidates (Pearson and Moyes) both available, just to give the place a bit of a lift.

I can see Reilly being put on his way shortly. Regarding HoFO, could Brian Little head up this role?, with someone like Andy Townsend alongside.

Think the post is a full-blown admin one with somebody who has that experience but also a sound football background, who understands the game and how clubs work. Maybe not one for ex footballers and probably wouldn't appeal to them.
The relationship between the post and the manager is critical, so maybe they'll appoint someone who they know can work with the manager, after the manager is appointed.
