Apologies for the off topic article.
Has anybody ever suffered from this?
For the last three weeks or so I've had real trouble sleeping properly for no obvious reason.
Initially falling asleep isn't really an issue (normally about 11pm), but I find myself waking up normally around 1am - 2am feeling strangely wide awake and not like I need to sleep.
Then it gets to around 5.30, and after around four hours or so of not sleeping I start to feel tired but I need to be up for work at 06.30. I now more often than not find myself running on no more than four hours sleep per night.
I wouldn't say I'm particularly stressed about anything and I've not made any changes to my life style and this is what confuses me the most. They say small changes make a difference to your sleeping pattern but I've literally changed nothing. (I do wash my bed sheets don't worry).
So has anybody else suffered from this and if so, did anything help?

I've just googled as well, sound perfect.
I never particularly like the idea of getting on proper sleeping tablets, as I reckon you could very easily become addicted to them!
But I'll give these a go, cheers

They aren't opiates (like most heavy sedatives) so are not addictive.
Good luck

About 4 years ago i suffered very badly with insomnia due to anxiety.
Simple answer was to deal with the issue and the symptom (insomnia) was fixed.
Harder to fix if you cant pin down what the issue may be.
Hope you can find a solution mate.

Probably stress, too much caffeine or some kind of subconscious anxiety thing.
When you think about being unable to sleep, you really won't sleep.
If you really struggle, smoke some herb, don't go down the prescription route.

Busby... sometimes herb makes it worse, you know when you start worrying about something when you're a bit baked and it makes your heart race.

Yeah, if you can't handle the side effects of weed like the faster heart rate, anxiety and sensitivity to bodily functions, then it isn’t for you.
After smoking daily for years I went through a phase and only smoke with friends now. I find it much more enjoyable.
Having been through benzos, TCA’s, beta blockers, tramadol and others for stress, anxiety sleep problems and nerve pain, I wouldn't suggest medication, I wound up with stomach ulcers and found out medication doesn't cure you, it's only temporary. You can only do that yourself
Saying that, there's a difference between genuine insomnia and stress/ anxiety related sleep problems.

How dare you
Most of the time, I'm chilled but if I worry about something then it sets you off worse, being stoned in the first place. i.e If you are worried about not dropping off to sleep, and are lying in bed a bit stoned and you think "shiiit I might not get to sleep" that makes it a lot worse.

Agree about dealing with the underlying cause rather than trying to medicate the symptoms away.
Here's something for you to that end. Jesus said:
"Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light."

Haven't suffered that problem myself Ebdo, although unfortunately I'm one of those people who is used to 5-6 hours sleep on any given day
Have you tried watching most of Leicester's games this season?
