I hope we're goner see him starting a bit more from now to end of season. I know Lennon has been playing well but I don't see any reason why they both can play in the same starting eleven. They could inter change on both wide areas during the game.
I don't think we've found the answer to the wide left position yet. Mirallas, Kone and Cleverley have been tried and although Cleveley has done OK I do not believe its his best position.
I thought Deulofeu was playing well before he got dropped to the bench, is it a tactical ploy so Barcelona don't come back in for him in the Summer?
Deulofeu

I think he plays cleverly out on the left, so that he can drop into the middle if we get over run, but that shouldn't really be an issue with 3 centre midfielders on the pitch. I agree with you I would really like to see us start with 2 genuine wide attacking players.

Even under Moyes we never played with two out and out wide men.
Pienaar would play out and drop inside when things got tricky. If we had two wide players like Lennon then yes, let's play two hard working wide men.
But with Gerry or Mirallas that's not an option in my opinion

The one thing that pīsses me off with Gerry is his work rate. He's either a lazy sod or very unfit for an athlete. I remember when we played Stoke at home, every player bar Gerry were busting a gut, whilst he meandered around without a care in the world.

And that is probably why he is benched!
In Martinez first season he allowed Barkley and Mirallas to be lazy as they were the outlet. Now he is less focuses on just one me option to attack so everyone has to graft. So Lennon gets a run as he does both

The lad is just not fit enough. Part time , bit-player who is effective in short bursts only.
