Raid on Newcastle ??

by Dont cry for me Argentina we have pochettino and Lamela (U17539)

Morning lads hope you are well.

Newcastle sit 2nd from bottom of the table 6 points behind Norwich who are 17th although Newcastle do have a game in hand.

Newcastle aren't looking like a team who will get out this mess and its a realistic possibility they will go down.

Looking at the other teams who may go down - Villa (obviously) , Sunderland and Norwich apart from maybe Yann m'vila from Sunderland its slim pickings apart from a few lads at Newcastle.

Id say Perez (who we have been interested in before), Sissoko, Wijnaldum and Shelvey are players that would improve our squad.

Are any of these guys worth a punt in the summer should Newcastle fall through the trap door? or are they no better than what we already have?

Its been done before, Suarez nearly carried Pool to a title for example.

Some of their players are decent, but none of them would improve this Spurs squad.

Suarez had good players with him though. Sterling & Sturridge was fantastic that season for example

Also are you forgetting we got Trippier from a relegated Burnley?

Wijnaldum is currently being looked at by Roma & Juventus. Tbh he was far to good for Newcastle anyway and no idea why he chose them with other teams wanting him.

Yes but Suarez made Sturridge and Sterling better than they actually are, he was the difference, highlighted by the return to mid table after he left.

I am not saying all players from relegated teams are rubbish, just that none of this current Newcastle, Sunderland or Villa teams would improve our squad.

The only one I would take, is maybe Grealish for his potential, by all accounts he is highly rated within the game, but again a questionable attitude perhaps.

Wijnaldum just does not impress me enough, though he would probably excel in an ordinary Italian league.

Agree with Grealish and something I put earlier on. If Poch could sort the attitude then he'll be a hell of a player.

How on earth Coloccini has been a premier league defender for so long i will never know. One of the wost defenders the league has ever and probably will ever see. No heart, no desire, extremely bad positioning, laziness. And he is captain!?

This. Very surprised to hear people saying they don't rate him. He's miles better than Chadli, Son or Lamela, and I'm one of the rare people who thinks all 3 of those are decent players (Lamela more than the other two at the moment).

Only 25, years of captaincy under his belt, plenty of career goals to his name, speaks the language, knows the league and wouldn't be overly expensive. No-brainer for me.
