Iain Dowie is expected to be named Nottingham Forest manager in the next 48 hours with his tenure set to start on 1st June the guardian report.
Owner Fawaz Al Hazawi has lived up to his promise to appoint a big name manager with a previous track record in achieving promotion to the premier league.
Asked by the guardian to confirm the appointment Fawaz said 'We expect to appoint Iain shortly subject to final negotiations. I said the fans would be very happy with this appointment and I'm already seeing their appreciation on Twitter.'
Asked about the links with Nottingham, Fawaz had this to say, 'Iain once took his family to visit The Tales of Robin Hood. I think it was in the early 90s. They had a really good day out. In addition, Iain has also watched the movie Prince of Thieves no less than 4 times. It's clear he has a strong link to Nottingham and will be welcomed back to the City Ground as one of our own'
Dowie, who has managed Charlton for just 15 games before being dismissed had this to say, "When I got the call from Fatwaz or whatever his name is, I couldn't believe my luck. I said to the wife, do you think he knows who I am? I'm just hoping he doesn't google my record before I get this contract tied up. I feel like I've won the pools. I told all the guys at Sky and they didn't believe me. They said I was a useless tossser and I probably couldn't manage an erection successfully let alone a football team."
Dowie is expected to bring former Forest favourites David Platt, Jason Lee, Bernard Allou and Chris Bart-Williams as part of his backroom staff.

Football doesn't matter today, I'm off to Wilkos to get some washing up liquid and bleach. I don't know what kind of bleach though, but I expect I'll decide when I get there, because dithering about in those situations can be very costly.
