Just started playing DS3 this morning before work
Thought I'd start a thread to discuss how everyone is getting on (without too many spoilers!) and to share any hints, tips and secrets you may have found
Ive just cleared the tutorial area which wasnt too painful except for a fairly tough crystal enemy (which is optional by the way) and also the games first area boss
The boss fight wasnt too bad and i only died the once which was my fault really as i tried getting two or three hits in which drained my stamina and left me open for an utter beating.
Apparantly most boss fights come in two forms during DS3 and the first one wasnt any different. TIP: for this boss second phase try to stick as close to him as possible
Anyhow ive started with my old DS style of sword out and shield up even for the lower enemies Must try the new weapon arts at some point

Baz just a tip:
If you want to respec, do it before starting ng+, otherwise you lose the option until you get back to the cathedral. Also buy any supplies you need as this all gets reset!

Nice one Sog.
have you tried a Mage character in this game? I tried it in ds1, hard as hell to start with, but once I levelled up, made it pretty easy. Heard this game not as forgiving on magic dudes...and judging by some of the boss styles, perhaps true..
Then again I haven't done ptronancy this game either. It's usually pretty useful.

The only downside with a mage imo is that you have to allocate more ashen estus flasks to replenish your FP points. Spells like Great Soul Arrow and Soul Stream are pretty powerful but do cost quite a lot of FP to use. Don't forget to equip the ring which shortens the spell casting time and the one that increases attunement slots. A must have for mage builds. Use Crystal Magic Weapon as a main buff to increase your weapon attack power and it should offset the lower points you put in strength and dex.

Nice one nadz. I'm kind of swaying towards pyro for the next run through, faith seems to be a bit weak, but I do use some spells at the mo (int at 18), and I like their range, but pyro could be s great shout too.

That's the evil of this game, have to put hours in to win it. Fair play, I'm trying to find time to get a concerted effort to beat it on the go, but it seems to be fits and spurts for the mo.
Who did you find the toughest boss? Pontiff for me so far, most others were pretty easy.

It was always the pontiff for my SoG must have been 50+ tries and all of my summoning things. Can’t remember Lorain so he must not have been as bad
Hope they do another, or blood borne, I believe there’s a new one kind of similar out soon, Sekiro I gave up on that was just too hard..I’ve got ghosts of T….sonethiing to play through at some stage, played first level was fun.
