For Those That Don't Know About Xhaka

Although I don't believe these Xhaka rumours has much validity to it.

Benzema/M'Vila sagas all over again, the rumours don't seem to go away and what I'm certain of is with this season's failure Wenger is going to spend in an attempt to convince the supporters as quickly as possible.

Xhaka is very much a signing that would benefit the team and someone I've admired for a while. I first watched him back when he was at Basel, it was to actually see what the Shaqiri hype was about but Xhaka was another hot prospect as well as defender Dragović.

I followed Xhaka's career for a while and was quite surprised he ended up at Gladbach whilst Shaqiri went to Bayern. Xhaka was a big part in Gladbach's progress in the Bundesliga becoming a CL club last season.

Xhaka is a central midfielder who sits deep and recycles possession really well. His distribution is his strongest trait, his long range passes are world class a young Xabi Alonso at times. Left-footed and has good presence at 6'1.

He isn't the most agile however and it could be an issue in the PL especially with our lack of midfield shape in particular. He'd fare well besides Coquelin/Elneny but besides Ramsey could be an issue although he'd be a big support to Ramsey's lack of skills in the first phase of play.

He positions himself well defensively and is quite aggressive but as mentioned isn't so mobile and is quite rash in the challenge.

He'd be a good signing but I have better solutions for central midfielders than him tbh. Witsel wants a more competitive club and Carvalho's price will have definitely decreased since injury.

Xhaka would also rule out a partnership with Wilshere both being left-footed I doubt we'd see them together in a 2 much. Given our injury problems we need every potential partnership possible.

Very promising player however and would solve a lot of problems, not too comfortable with spending £35m+ but who am I to complain about a lack of money being spent by the club.
