Who is the ideal manager for us

I have often touted Jose for the job and I still think that he's pretty much a perfect fit for us. People under estimate how tough a job managing this club is. The expectations are just sky high. It's not an easy task for any manager. Jose is one of the only men left on the market who i feel could actually cope with the pressure and expectation and that's not a thing we'll find elsewhere easily.

The argument his record of not exactly trusting in young players is a fair one.....however I have always stuck up for him a bit in that regard as his remit has never really been to build a young side has it? He's been appointed at all his jobs post Porto to bring instant success and he's done it. I think people are unfair to him a bit on youth side of things. He's never really been given the chance to build a young side so it's nonsense saying he can't do it. He's managed plenty of young players in last 13 years and many of them loved him too.

Is he the right man for Rashford, Memphis, Mensah, Martial? I don't know really. But who is if he's not? There aren't many people out there who immediately spring to mind.

If Utd are having second thoughts on Jose and are now seriously considering him as our next manager after apparently turning him down a few years ago.........I'm sure if he was told that his remit was to build and young attractive side full of young vibrant players with a scatter of experience he could deliver it.

I simply refuse to believe that Rashford, Memphis and co would not want to play and impress Jose. I also refuse to believe he'd drop them all if he thought they were good enough just because they are young.

its the lake of effort and passion that worries me more with vGs side... plus the lack of risk taking, especially from CMF which is profound. It the easy ball sideways and quickly given away that is the option taken by Morgan Bastian Wiggy etc. Carrick is the only guy who seems capable of processing the ball forward to give our front guys something to work on.

Villa just had their easiest afternoons work for the best part of a season. It was quite frankly pathetic to watch

Lets get one thing straight, jose has built some exceptionally good footballing sides.

I have NEVER seen any team let alone a utd play to sort of mediocre boring dross that lvg has provided with us.

No comparisson.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The earlier claim that Jose is "notorious" for park the bus football is utter drivel - and seems to derive mainly from a single match at anfield, which he won 2-0, where the media bemoaned the fact that plucky low-spending underdogs liverpool, who play "proper" football, had blown the title - and is not supported by any facts.

But as stretty says, how anyone can think that the football under jose would plumb the depths of the last 18 months is beyond me.

The thing is, many of us would have been much happier with Jose if only Stretty was against him.

To be fair, there was that CL semi away at Atletico as well! Around the same time, I think.

Interesting that United fans complain about the boring football under Van Gaal and then want to bring in someone notorious for his 'park the bus' style approach

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the worst myth in whole of football.

It the laziest and most incorrect statement to say Jose's teams are boring. They are pragmatic at times but they aren't boring.
