Is it? Bale is 4 years younger and on the up, Valencia wasn't. Bale also seemed to show he had more to his game than Valencia did IMO however effective Valencia was. Stats also seem to back up that Bale was more effective.

Steven Gerrard wasn't wold class? Wtf, explain yourself.

I'd say Gerrard was a WC player on his day but not necessarily a WC CM, as he lacked the discipline and technique to command games consistently. On his day though he was a sensational player.

From SLM's list I'd probably say only Xavi and Pirlo were WC CMs in 2008. You could add Iniesta but I wouldn't really class him as a CM.

I would say similar about Wazza. There were only small isolated parts of his career where I would say he was world class.

IMO, and no one will ever change my view on this, the term world class is over used to often by fans and even more so, by pundits and commentators.

Every and I mean that. Every club in Europe who could afford him would have gone in for him and he would have walked into all their teams (bar barca)

Kane is very good but not world class. Not yet anyway. Aguero is an example of world class. He has three less goals than than Kane despite playing over 1000 mins less.

I think people look at goal records too much and automatically label people world class... there are probably about 20 strikers in europe who could score 20 goals in the league with how that spurs team is set up.

Rooney would have for about 10 years of his career, doesn't mean he was world class.

No, Kane is not world class. He's very good, but he's not there at the moment.
