Forest v MK Dons - Rubber Duckie

Yes, I know we have two more games in between, but I am off to NY and Chicago on holiday this Friday and will miss the next two games.

Where have I been? Well, as you may remember I moved back to the UK last April to look after my Mum. My Mum had a rare terminal cancer that she unfortunately lost her spirited fight to on 2nd April. If only we'd have had the same balls, so to speak.

The main reason that I wanted to do MK Dons is as a mark of respect, MK was her last game with my mates and me. She loved it.

Back then (19th December) we enjoyed a 2-1 win after not playing particularly well....hmmmmm. Chances of promotion were slim....hmmmm. My Mum wanted to meet Dougie Freedman.....hmmmm.

Fast forward and the world is a far bleaker place on and off the pitch. My crystal ball, turned out to be crystal balls, but, I am still optimistic for an Away draw and promotion next season. Haha!!! When you've had a year like Mum and I you can't help to be positive and try and have a laugh.

So, form is awful, but we looked good in parts against Brighton (TV) and Blackburn (Live). The final third is still the problem of course, but we might have Britt and Nelson in the last game. Now, that would be exciting.

Anyway, I better get packing. Take it easy, life's way to short.

Stress & Pie:

GAME 46
STADIUM MONKEY
MONKEYDONS 1 FOREST 2

The atmosphere, generated almost entirely by the Forest fans, completely banished the stew of miserable cynicism prevalent on the interweb, for which we thank God and Cohen and Britt and all those involved in this most enjoyable of occasions. The experience reminded everybody that Forest fans really do know how to enjoy themselves, and that beneath the troublesome issues, real or invented, there remains an enormous fund of affection for the team.

It was heartwarmingly fitting that the old warhorse Cohen bagged his goal to cap a fine all round display, and that Britt reminded us all what we'd missed not only with his goal, which was stunning, but also with his bristling, beaming, infectious optimism. Right at the nub end of a disappointing season, the place, at least the Forest end, blazed with hope.

I got so excited I decided to go to Norwich, for reasons which don't really concern you, and I'm just about to set off now. That's why this is a short report, but we'll be back very soon, with play off stuff and Euro stuff and Lympic stuff and Forest stuff. Have a wonderful summer. See you soon.
