Fellow 'Liners'.
What do you make of Series 3 so far, particularly after last night's gripper?
Was that an hour that passed by?
Programmes that hold your attention & demand a level of concentration like 'Line Of Duty' are what I pay the licence fee for. Taut, involving, immersive, tense, cathartic.
Jed Mercurio's work is consistently excellent (q.v. 'Bodies'). Not everyone's cup of tea, I know, but the drama is peerless on every level.
Procedural thriller? Must be the genre I was born to appreciate. The satisfaction of calling the various plot twists correctly is all part of the enjoyment.
Simply superb stuff.
Last episode will be 90 mins and a 4th series has already been commissioned. Well done Beeb!!

Cob.
'Bodies' was Jed Mercurio's NHS drama series. Worth watching.
Defo watch Series 1 & 2 of Line - both excellent.

Only watched it in the last month.
Watched series 1 and 2 on Netflix and am up to date with 3 now.
Brilliant series, best British program I have seen for a long time.
Reminds me a bit of 24 with the twists and turns but more realistic than 24 which while great at times was ridiculous at others.

Any thoughts on last night's closer.
Riveting viewing as ever imo.
Best drama on TV.

It was class wasn't it. Ok the last 15 mins were a bit daft but the interview scenes with Steve and Dot were so good.

Definitely
The interview section was superb - the build up as the line of questioning ramped up the pressure on Dot was compelling stuff. Ultimately, he had nowhere to go.
I went with the last 15mins - bit of a derivative action chase but still packed a punch.
Overall, there's not much you can fault.
Can't wait where the next series will go. I have a few theories about what themes might be used. Whatever they do, you know it will be essential viewing.

Yeah don't get me wrong I still liked the last 15 mins.
I've got an idea or two of which way they'll go next series. There's 2 more in the pipeline apparently.

I'm hoping for a new trilogy building on the previous storyline threads. We'll see another tier of the OCG & new internal adversaries for Hastings & co to contend with. And twists aplenty. Contemporary issues will feature.
