If you want 'banter' please look away now. I'd much prefer just serious posters with something decent to say.
It's hard to believe that there's less than one month to go before the 1st test vs Sri Lanka at Headingley.
3 tests, 5 ODIs and one T20.

Malinga and Wood are definite absentees.
I think this summer is a great opportunity for England to get two series wins and, quite possibly, two test series whitewashes, if the weather holds up. It's also an opportunity for England to look at some fringe players and for those players to nail down their spots for the foreseeable future.
I'll be surprised if Sri Lanka even get close to winning a test match given that they've lost most of their top players in the last few years (Sanga, Mahela, Murali) and are still trying to rebuild.
2-0 or 3-0 to England.

Alastair Cook (capt), Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Jake Ball, Stuart Broad, Nick Compton, Steven Finn, Alex Hales, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, James Vince
Suppose Ball may be the one to sit it out.

First morning of a summer test series. Unbeatable!!!

Its very muggy. top temp of 18c they recon..so not to bad for time of year.. England will bat more than likely.. 2 reasons why. England will chose to bat and sri-lanka will chose to bowl. but we'll see.
Oh and ps ,the point system is pointless if you escuse the pun.

super series is just daft. It's trying to make the series interesting because they don't think it will be interesting.
If Sri Lanka keep batting the way they are, the series will be over pretty quickly.

Turned out to be a stroll in the park for England. Two decent scores (Hales and Bairstow) and Anderson and Broad destroy the Sri Lankan feeble batting.

A bit of a proper fight 2nd innings from Sri Lanka, but the game was lost a long time ago.
Next game could be interesting, but so much depends on the pitch. A bit of seam and swing and the result will be the same as the first two tests.

sri-lanka were lucky the pitch died a death.. see that alot in country cricket this summer. pitches completely dying all the life come out of em
stilll won the game quite easily. another mauling coming up at Lords.

I guess it will all come down to the pitch. Anything in it for Anderson and Broad, then an England victory is as sure as night follows day.

England chucking this away after a reasonable first hour. Arrogant, complacent or unlucky?

allowing the likes of Mathews to bowl maiden after maiden.. just shows the attitude..
