Renato Sanches

According to Arab's wing man Di Marzio, we're close to signing him for €60m, paid over four years.

Cant say I've seen much of him.

Renato Sanches is so freaking good. Very jealous of this signing.

His stats aren't that great. The last player we bought from the Portuguese league is fecking useless. Yes Rojo, terrible buy and not sure what possessed LVG to buy him. The two Dutch CBs were better than him at the WC !!

Will be so annoyed at this if true.

1) He reminds me of Wanyama, not good enough.
2) For that money, why don't we chance a Pogba or a Veratti?

Rojo was left footed and a CB. Ability didn't really come into it.

If City buy him, it's an indication of where the two clubs are and I'll be outraged that we didn't act. If we buy him, he's a waste of money and we're the only fools who'd pay that much.

All most fans want is for United to spend their money well.

Had ADM been a roaring success the stupid fee would have been swiftly forgotten (as it is with Martial). Signing ADM for £60m is no more or less a statement of intent than signing De Bruyne for £55m, but one was a huge flop, the other looks like being a star for years to come.

But making Sanches the most expensive CM of all time would be a big bet for sure.

I know, I'm joking. It does sound like a lot of money, if true. But if he "did a Martial" we'd all be thrilled.

Fair enough.

The big problem with most of United's recent signings is that too few of them are nailed on first xi players, so whether you pay £10m/20m/30m for Memphis, or £15m/25m for Morgan, is largely irrelevant, it's the fact that few fans would care that much if they were sold tomorrow.

Don - Correct. As I have said many times, our recruitment has been poor for a club of such size and wealth looking to compete for PL's and CL.
Rojo, Memphis, Darmian, BS (alas) poor buys
Blind, Martial Good buys
Herrera, MS average buys to date at best.

IMO we need top quality CB,CM,CF,RW this summer.
Varane/Marquinhos, Sanches (looks like), Ibra/Higuain Mourinhos favourites.
RW - The OX the latest to be linked !
