Now that all the transfer speculation is over, what is our best team? I am including any injured players like Mutch. Here's my effort ....
Doyle
Carr Caldwell Davies Ridge
Mutch
Burke Beausejour Redmond
Zigic King
Doesn't look like a bad team? Murphy, Gomis & Wood are unlucky not to be in it and I have omitted the three new signings as I don't really know much about them, maybe they deserve to be in this eleven?
What's our best team?

All depends Xpat if I'd sat on my backside for 6 months on full pay.........

Beausejour is yet to impress me, I thought he would be on fire in this division.
I habnt got a clue what is going on with Zuigic, I wish those at the club could be bothered to keep us in the loop.
Players that imo are good enough to get a team promoted are Ridgewell, Davies, Carr(last season I think) Burke possibly, Redmond, Zig. Thats why we will struggle in this division against some very very strong squads.
If the owners havnt sorted themselves out by January and invest we will be here for a few seasons

Apologies Xpat - If I'd been on the sick for 6 months on full pay and extracted the urine, then my employers would rightly ask to lower my salary. Hence Banjo asking a test of character, as you stated it would be a question of stupidity.

That what i mean...
I think often Xpat you misread what i say because you do not read everything, mind you i do right essays
What i mean if Zigics wages are too high, but we look stuck with him. We could offer him a 50% cut so he gets £25K a week but if promoted he then gets the other 50% so thats a £1.25M Bonus.
If we fail to get promoted we allow Zigic to move for free.
For Zigic he gets to play week in week out if he is fit enough, if he does really well he would impress potential clubs. If he did well but we still fail to get promoted then for him he could get many suiters and he would be free to go to who he wants.
For us we then get his wages off the books, this gives Zigic something to play for. As of now not many clubs are interested simply because of his wages, if he impresses then maybe clubs would be willing to pay £40K+ a week for him.

thanks Miami...
banjo, you could be right, I do read too quickly sometimes...
I was just thinking that the player and the club both signed a contract so both should honour it.
It is unlikely that Zigic would agree to a huge pay cut if it is not a contractural requirement...
If he is fit he should play... and the club should play him, not leave him on the bench until he accepts a pay cut etc...

Thats why i said its a test of Character.
Maybe Zigic would prefer to move to another club in higher league, but at the moment there are not many takers that could be because of one or both of below.
1) Wages (maybe Zigic wont take a large cut that suits buying clubs).
2) The Transfer fee, which in combination with above would be a too bigger total.
Zigic does not have to accept a wage cut, but he is a Blues player and maybe untill January and the less he plays the lesser the chance clubs would come in for him.
So if we only paid him 50% of his wages and he gets the other 50% upon Promotion for Zigic if we go up he would get the same wage for the season, if we dont go up well our club has only paid out 50% of his wages.
Then failure to get Promoted means Zigic can leave for free, this would suit our club and the player.
Cant see this happening but its something we could have offered.
We could have kept Super Kev by maybe offering him a 50% pay cut so £500K but then offer to pay him £250K bonus if we get in Play Offs and £250K more if Promoted (or £500K if we get Top 2).
Super Kev would get the same wage as he had if we got promoted if we did not and even never got top 6 then Phillips would only cost 50% of his old wages.
Of course the players may say no such offers, but you only have to ask, we made little or no effort, i bet Phillips and Bowyers wages now are a lot less than we paid them

Myhill
Carr Davies Caldwell Ridgewell
Burke Gomis Mutch Redmond
King Rooney
Hard to say with the strikers because we've only seen Rooney and Wood play alongside each other.

Mutch cannot play as injured so that line up is not good and why pick forwards that are not match fit?

Read the article. The op says including injured players.
