Congrats to Burnley, but seeing the top of this years Championship is already filling me with dread.
Burnley, Middlesbrough and Brighton have all excelled amassing 90 and near on 90 points.
How on earth are Villa going to realistically get anywhere that number of points with the current squad.
Rumours that a deal with Pearson is "agreed" although no announcement until a takeover is complete. Not sure whether Pearson will wait forever.
Did anyone else notice that Eric Black used the word "outstanding" to describe Villa against Watford? Black is starting to get on my nerves in interviews, although I suppose he's on a hiding to nothing.

The individual teams in the Championship aren't that good. Did Birmingham look better than our lot in the Cup? No.
What we will need is the stamina to keep going week after week and consistently getting results. Plug the weaker holes in our team, make sure we have a squad deep enough to cope with the schedule, and have a manager who can organise the team and devise the tactics to go out and get those results week after week and we'll be up there with the best.
I wonder if a deal with Pearson is agreed. Can't see how it can be until it's okayed by the new owner, who may have different ideas. I'd be surprised if at the moment we didn't have three or four candidates still lined up. But if the club isn't sold in the next two weeks it becomes messy.
