What and who do we need.....

....To go a step further and win the title next season?

I know there have been many articles written about who we should sell and buy in the summer, but i think yesterdays game clearly showed us what we are lacking.......Experience.

Im over the moon that we have a very talented young squad and we have many players like Alli, Dier, Lamela, Kane and Eriksen that will no doubt get better and better as every season passes.

We have the talent, pace, appetite, and a harmonious squad but we fall short in game management particularly when we have worked so hard to get ahead in matches but then implode. Perfect examples Arsenal and West Brom home games and Chelsea away.

As our first team is of a very high standard it will be difficult to buy player's who can improve what we have, so we need to improve our fringe players and bench.

Every Spurs fan and his dog knows we need to buy a top CF like Batsuayi, Lacazette etc, thats a given. We can't go into next season with just Kane at CF and players who can do a job there.

Our second most important signing needs to be an experienced DM/CM firstly to cover Dier and Dembele but to also be there on the bench to come on and influence a game. To manage the game, make us keep the ball and to prompt our players to keep their shape and discipline.

GK - Lloris is superb but perhaps we could improve on Vorm who has looked very rusty when he has filled in.

FB - No problems. Great strength in depth.

CB - Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Wimmer is very strong. Young CCV is a superb young talent and Dier could drop back there. - No improvement needed.

CM - This area needs improvement. Dier and Dembele superb but Bentaleb is out of favour and Mason and Caroll average and too lightweight. - Experienced DM/CM needed.

AM - Chadli should be moved on as he dosent suit Poch's high energy pressing game. - Id like us to buy a pacy game changer like Bolasie.

CF - Kane - superb but thats it. Desperately need another high class CF. 3rd choice I'm hoping will be young Shayon Harrison. If he isn't deemed ready by Poch, then bring in Dembele from Fulham or Lookman from Charlton.

To summarise -

OUTS

Chadli, Bentaleb, Caroll, Yedlin, Fazio

INS

CF, Experienced DM, AM and maybe another GK and CF.

I know its massively unrealistic. Just saying we need him.

I dunno who I would say for realistic and we could get.

Cabaye I wanted last year, but not so much this.

We need a holding midfielder, not Matudi who would compete with Dembele's spot

Yeah probably, would like someone with title winning experience who is high energy and older as well like Matuidi though (Also think he is a top player).

Who would you get for the holding mid?

I said the other day on an article that if Carrick or Alonso are released in the summer by their clubs we should be looking to sign one of them.

We need an experienced winner in the squad, even if he isn't starting, someone we can bring off the bench to come on and manage a game, slow it down or speed it up, direct us, have a word in the ear of players who are starting to get wound up etc.

Both Carrick or Alonso could cover Dier and Dembele easily.

If we had either of those players on the bench yesterday when we bought on Mason to try and tighten the game up I'm convinced we would have won.

The players i would like us to sign in the summer are-

Batsuayi or Lacazette

Carrick or Alonso

Boufal.

Javi Martinez if he's available would be an interesting option

Spurs will implode next season unless they invest heavily on two world class players.

The problem is that the only way you are likley to get two world class players is by overspending on fees and wages; which hurts the team dynamic.

It's great being a London club in terms of player attraction; but not when you are the third London club in line.

Chelsea and Arsenal will be going marquee in terms of players; and that is going to be your problem.
