Greatest year for gaming - 2002?

I'd love for them to make Ghost Recon amazing again. Been a while though. Don't have much hope tbh. Not a fan of the last one.

There is a new one coming out - ~Ghost recon Wildlands i believe
I think its going to by more geared towards multiplayer though

There was a time around 03 - 05 when things were peaking on the PS2 with;

SSX3
Killzone
Burnout 3
Resident Evil 4
San Andreas
PES
Killer 7
Call of Duty
Prince of Persia
XIII
Tiger Woods

All great games, Resi 4 in particular is one of my greatest gaming experiences ever but yeah gaming moves on and I do prefer to look forward than backwards.

I bought the HD version of Resi 4 for the PS3 when it came out and it just wasn't the same

Big shame that the Timesplitters franchise is dead, Timesplitters 2 was fantastic.

Wish I had managed to unlock all the characters.

As for 2002, it certainly was a notable year in gaming history.

Xbox and Gamecube both released in the UK that year.

Being a Nintendo fanboy I don't think 2002 was that great of a year, but it did have some great games.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron

Metroid Fusion

They were the games I remember from 2002, I would say 2003 was better as Metroid Prime and Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker came out in that year.

Also remember F-Zero GX, Mario Kart: Double Dash and Viewtiful Joe from that year too.

So I went for a wee nostalgic trip at lunchtime on the wiki yearly games lists - mainly to see if there was any I missed from my post above and of course there was - Manhunt, True Crime LA, God of War, and Gun were all excellent and played to death by me.

Also how bad was 2006 for playstationers, waiting on the PS3 while casting envious glances at the X-Boxers and their fandy dan 360

Yeah I really missed out on not buying an early model Xbox 360...

Probally just the rrod!

But yeh apart from Uncharted in the early years the 360 whooped the ps3. Great come back and the exact opposite in the last few years with Sony ending on a massive high that continued into the ps4.

That's why I bought my PS3 in 2010.

Did buy an early-model PS2 though. Guess what happened there...
